26 million people have been infected in the last ten years alone. With all the prayers and worship, why hasn't your god cured one single case?

Christians are always going on and on about the "power of god" and the "power of prayer", but in this case, it seems like god just doesn't care about those millions of babies in Africa. I guess he wants those families to all learn lessons in overcoming adversity?

He cures migraines and arthritis all the time. I know. I've seen people on television with bad headaches literally stand up, pray, and have their headaches go away (which is amazing) but the HIV victims prayers seem to fall on deaf ears. It almost makes you think that "we cannot know god" but when he made this poor Grandmother with bad arthritis get up and moonwalk... well... you just gotta get excited!

I'm not even going to mention amputees.

JESUS! CHRIST!...sorry for swearing. I'm not Christian, I'm Catholic actually. And I think you're...but you sound really stupid to me. Why? Because you actually believe the crap on television with the healing and crap.

Look printninja I know what type of person you are. You think you're some sort of realist whom can only see the tragedy and death going on in the world because you fail to see that the only reason drugs and death is common is because people made it that way and have given up on the dream for a better world. But you know what I say to people like you. I still think there's hope that there are many other people whoa re still dreamers working for a better world making it so that tragedy, disease, and death is not common.

God cannot just take away our problems, he gives us problems so that we may learn how to work through them and become stronger. He gives us the opportunity to work to solve the situation like disease, but the problem is no one is taking this opportunity and taking advantage of the chance to make things right. he doesn't want to see people suffer, but he does want to see his children get smarter about things.
Expecting God to solve everything for you is like asking you're teacher to do your homework for you. If you're too weak and too stupid to help with the cause most people are still trying at to get cures, peace, and love I pity you. I honestly do. Just like the rest of the world who have given up on trying for a better world because they're too lazy, selfish, and they're 'realists'.

Good job asshole, you got me talking like some disney movie

How do you know He hasn't cured anyone of HIV/AIDS?
Are you omnipresent? ( Look in the dictionary if you don't know what that word means)
When you and I look at all the hurting people in the world,
it is easy for us to say God should cure them NOW.
But we only see things from our limited point of view.
The LORD GOD sees the whole picture and only HE is qualified to heal or not heal. Ever since Adam and Eve sinned, this has been a fallen world. It is not the perfect place that God planned. Bad things happen because of that. I know I am over-simplifying things, but just know this... in Heaven we will know all the answers that we weren't able to understand on earth.
Be careful. It is not a wise idea to question God.

HUH? So you're arguing that God can cure small psychosomatic conditions like headaches and arthritis, but can't cure blood-borne diseases like AIDS... that's God is basically the equivalent of an extra-strength Tylenol?

I'm assuming that you're trying to be sarcastic, and your real argument is that prayer and spiritual belief is useless because it doesn't magically produce the exact results someone asks for.
I agree, simply wishing or praying for a physical transformation isn't as effective as applying active scientific treatment. But if a positive or negative mental state can result in positive or negative physical change, and prayer can alter that mental state, then it could result in small amounts of physical change (for example - mental stress leads to an ulcer; prayer or meditation reduces or redirects the mental stress, thereby easing the ulcer). So don't discredit the positive potential of non-medical treatments.

You can also think of it this way - sure, prayer never reversed the spread of HIV or drastically improved white blood cell count. What did? Medical drugs and treatment. Who spent hours inventing and testing those treatments? Human beings. Why? Because they were moved to help other human beings. Why? Because there's more to life than self-interest - there's a connection between all living things. If some people call that connection God, is that so foolish?

That is a very good question. Remember this: God cures, God restores and God forgives as long as you ask Him to. There is a second part to this statement, though: You need to have faith and trust. Faith and trust are the things that will grant you what you ask God. The reason, in my opinion, that people these days are not getting their prayers answered as portrayed in the Bible are as followed: Times have changed and people are growing more and more skeptical. The technology from today confirms everything, with the help of science. Youtube, the television, the media - any forms of communication. This is just a reason for people to say that there is no God, that there will be no cure for STDs, and that everything needs to have logic and reason, otherwise, it is silly. Let me tell you this, though: Jesus is the same, yesterday, today and forever. Never forget that. People today are getting cured of STDs - scientifically speaking, an impossibility - and this is proof that faith is rare, but that it works. A thing such as Down's Syndrome is a large mountain compared to other things, but it can be moved as long as you have faith and trust. Another thing, though: God knows what is best for us. I'm not saying that it is best for mentally disabled people to stay like that; I'm only saying that God has the wisdom that no human can have. He knows things we do not know. In the case of a mentally challenged person, look at it this way: People are judged according to what they do. Mentally disabled people are not because they do not know any better. Hypothetically speaking, if they are to be cured, then there would be a chance for them to slip out of the path that God wants for them. Afterall, we have free will, and if they are to be given "normal" minds, then they are given free will as well. That means that they will possibly become atheists if they are cured, and God does not want that. God uses bad occurences for good purposes too, you know. Have you seen "Simon Birch"?

I have known of persons in my country who have been healed.

God does not work to prove Himself to anyone and don't you think its about time you stop looking for excuses and accept the fact that our own choices are responsible for our own miseries and God owes none of us any obligations?

And since you are so concerned, what have you been doing to help, apart from helping them to loose the little hope that they have knowing there's something to look forward to hereafter in this life?

You should be busy trying to find a cure instead of questioning things you obviously cannot understand.

The bible says that we must first believe that God is who he is before we can acquire anything from him. So with a lot less believing persons theres a lot less miracles right?

You figure the math out.

I am very proud to declare that Jesus is my God. I Will take him any day over anything this world has to offer.

God bless you.

No one knows if God has cured a single case of HIV/AIDS or not. For instance, in Africa, many people with this condition cannot even afford medical treatment. Since it can take 10 years for symptoms to show up, how do you know whether or not God has cured HIV seropositivity before it turned into full-blown AIDS and before it was even diagnosed?

God doesn't cure anything. He simply gives humans the tools, to learn for themselves how to cure these things.

As for HIV/AIDS This is an illness that doesn't need a cure in developed countries. Developed countries such as America, Canada, England etc.. Know how to prevent it. We could completely eradicate that illness in those countries simply by taking steps to prevent it (absitnence before marriage and no drug use come to mind). In third world countries, I believe that education is the key. Let's teach them what we know. Lets educate them so that they can make a living for their families and can have clean enviroments and in turn change their lifestyles and begin prevention of this terrible disease. Lets start educating people in those countires to be doctors, teach them how to clean donated blood, how to test it for these diseases. Lets teach them the treatments that we have here in America, that while they don't cure the disease, improve and lengthen the quality of life to these people who have it. I mean where is Magic Johnson these days? He is still around, so the treatment must be working for him.

Really I know this may sound harsh, but maybe there is no cure available- we know how to prevent it. We really just need to educate people around the world as to how to treat and prevent it and we will be better off.

It is strange to me that we are spending billions to find a cure for AIDS- but you never hear people looking for a cure for Emphesyma. We know that Emphysema is caused by smoking, and that if a person does not want to get it, they just have to stop smoking or never start. So why are we funding research for one disease caused by deviant behavior, but not funding research for a disease caused by another deviant behavior- in my thinking, smoking is the lesser of the two evils.

People have been cured of AIDS, just not that many of them. People have tested positive for AIDS and later on they showed no traces of it. Whether you believe God was responsible for that or not is up to you. God doesn't promise to heal anyone in this life time. He does promise that all who turn from their sins and trust in Jesus for their salvation will live forever after this life time and never suffer again.

Revelation 21:1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. 2 And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. 4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning nor crying nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away."

5 And he who was seated on the throne said, "Behold, I am making all things new." Also he said, "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true." 6 And he said to me, "It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment. 7 The one who conquers will have this heritage, and I will be his God and he will be my son.

8 But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death."

Question. What has yours done to not only cure HIV/AIDS, but any other diseases and ailments?

I do not need to prove my GOD to you, nor does GOD need to prove himself to you.

The facts are there if you will just open your eyes and look.

Hey and if you are one of those who believe that there is no GOD,then why bother asking? If you know there is no GOD then you should also know the answer.

Next question. What have you done to heal someone of HIV/AIDS?

Why hasn't anyone's god provided a disease free earth? Or prevented the birth of children without birth defects, or provided science with the ability to reverse quadraplegia, or the ability to reverse the results of strokes, or a cure for alzhiemers.
