Mostly country music singers (with exception of the Dixie Chicks) When I was overseas pretty much the only people that came to see us were country singers and reporters.

Though the Goo Goo Dolls and Three Doors Down did make military tours.

Don't think he'll ever be replace. I was fortunate enough to see Bob and his show in Bien Hua, South Vietnam in 1969. Miss him a bunch.

I saw Bob Hope overseas and could give you examples of why there to this day is no replacement.

Paris Hilton, after getting out of prison she entertained the Marine Corps, the next week the US Army, the following week the US Air-force, next week its the US. Coastguard turn to be "entertained" but rumor has it they have to supply their own condoms.
The National Guard will have to wait till after Christmas as Paris wants a break from her hectic schedule.

I really dont think there will ever be another Bob Hope. That man was really patriotic and he supported our troups endlessly. He was a true Great American!

the 1 entertainer who considers it a Honor to perform for our troops is Wayne Newton, he has done shows thruout the middle east.. world wide! per gratis!

...sadly, no one or group has step'd up to fill that void... wouldn't it be wonderful if comedians like Robin Williams, Billy Crystal and guys like Jeff Foxworthy and Bill Engvall would get together and go "over there"...
