Someone doing this was the biggest fear I had when homeschooling. We had a card with a lawyer's number on the fridge in case this happened. Thankfully, since we live in a rural area, it didn't. But, I tensed up every time my son and i went to town (usually for something for a school project) and someone said, "Hey, why isn't that kid in school?" Calling the police is an easy way to harrass homeschoolers. It didn't even have to be your neighbors, it could just be someone who's been told you were homeschooling. That's all it takes. I'm sorry, dear, that's the last thing you need to worry about right now. Add--Apparently many people don't know that even if it's legal, anyone can still call the police and the police have to come check it out. It's a form of harrassment, that's all.

It is California penal code for robbery
211. Robbery is the felonious taking of personal property in the possession of another, from his person or immediate presence, and against his will, accomplished by means of force or fear.

The consensus appears to be robbery. There is actually NO universal meaning for ANY call sign. That is one reason many departments now use actual words. It reduces confusion when coordinating with other departments.

It all depends on what state you live in as not all departments codes mean the same thing
