Hi everyone , i been montioring my credit for a few years , Now on my Credit report its shows something from 2003 , it never showed it before .. It says NYS TAX COMMISSION., I called the irs and they said i paid my 299 i owed them in 2003 but it now shows on my credit report as unpaid.. Whats the best way to get rid of this ?

You're confusing Federal and State. NYS Tax Commission refers to NY State. The IRS does not handle State tax issues.
If you were audited in 2003 and the IRS changed your taxable income or taxes due, you should have filed an amended return in NY as well. NY has now caught up with the Federal change and is trying to collect their share as well.
You need to contact the NY State Tax folks and find out what's going on.

Look in the back in the enforcement section, Don't be suprised at what else you might see. This helped with my problem with them
