My boyfriend delivered a pizza the other day to a VERY shady apartment complex here in Ohio.

There were 2 black ladies and 1 black guy.

They tried to pay us with a bad check. The check had no name on it .. it had spots with white out on it ... AND it look liked they've tried to use it about 50 times ... its had eraser marks on it, so bad you could see thru them. Our manager said if they gave us any trouble when we went back to collect the pizzas, to call the cops.
Well, they just gave us the pizzas back, no problems ... but they tried to be real slick and "cool".

BUT my boyfriend said in their living room was BRAND NEW sweeper in a box, brand new purses, brand new EVERYTHING ...

He said it loked like they just went on a crime spree.

I KNOW there has been a lot of theft around here lately.

Do i have enough evidence to make a tip to the cops?

PLUS he gets a deliver one night a week because he has no driver that night. So gets your facts straight missy. I live in a house, that WE own .. we both own NEW cars .. so just back it down.!

I would call the police--you have the address and what you saw.

Let's see...

They tried paying you with a bad check.

The check looked like it had been used MULTIPLE times.

It looked as if they'd gone on a crime spree.

You absolutely KNOW that there was a lot of theft around there lately.

Those people weren't blind. They knew they were trying to give a bad check, and they'd have to live under a rock (and they don't) to not know that they were committing a crime by doing so. Don't stay silent. You have WAY more than enough evidence here - notify the police immediately.

It's still okay to call. It's a good thing you still have the address!

Yes, please call the police. If you don't want to give your name then do it anonymously. There could be more going on there than just a bad check, after what he saw so, I think I would call they police and let them take it from there. At least you would have a clear conscious and would have done a good thing if it turns out that crimes are being committed there! Good Luck!

the fact that they tried to pay with a bad check is a crime itself, you can call the police but there's not much they can do. They can't get a warrant to search the place so if the police comes it'll let them know that the cops are on to them and they might run. But call the police anyway and let them deal with it.

You mean Pizza Delivery accepts checks? That's news to me. That said, you don't need evidence to give the police a tip. Your statement may or may not be grounds for them to do something, but that is their job, not yours.

Me too I would call them or maybe take it into them to have a look. They would be able to tell you if its good or not and if its a bad cheque you can lead them to the appartment. I would do this as quick as posible alot of these weirdo's move really quickly and you might be disappointed to find someone else living there.

Yeah, call the police, thats what they are there for. They would rather have you report something and have those people be okay than not report and let them continue with breaking the law. It sounds like they are up to something though....

You could and should call your local crime stoppers or sheriff and just give them a tip. There is no harm in that, maybe it will help them solve a case.

Yes. call the cops, or go down and see them. tell them in great detail what went on, what your boy friend saw and let them deceide if any further action is needed
