Because they say the quiet ones are the ones you have to watch out for because we dont speak out as much as others. They think you may be the next school shooter. Ignore their stares and continue to be a good person, I have dealt with such for most of my life, nothing to get you down. We are just more observant.

I used to be very quiet and shy... people thought that I was mean or a snob because I didn't talk to them! Just ask the Lord to take care of the situation! He will do whatever He knows is best though!

Not knowing you or the people in your church, I can only guess. I have noticed that judgemental people often ignorantly assume quiet people are stupid.

probably they do not look down on you but finds it hard to get through to you and understand you.
maybe you should try being a little more sociable

How do you know they aren't looking up to you because they know they are loud, obvious and crass and they think you are deep and subtle...something they could never be but might wish they could be.

I would venture to say because they are shallow and judgemental. But then again, I don't know you or them so it's hard to say one way or the other.
