Depends on the formality of the wedding and your age. Someone 30-ish can get by with more than if you're 50-ish.
And is this a formal church wedding, a country club or garden wedding or are you going to the courthouse?
This would work if you're doing a garden/country club afternoon or early evening wedding and you're you're 30-ish you could wear this colored or solid white.

Any color and any style is acceptable. This is my 2nd wedding and my fiance's 1st and I am wearing a traditional white wedding gown. If you do not want a traditional gown, you might consider looking at some bridesmaid's dresses. I looked at some of those when I thought about just going with an evening gown type dress and there are lots of bridesmaids dresses that would work very good and most of them come in white.

Anymore, it doesn't matter what you wear. If you are doing a formal wedding, you may want to wear more traditional white or ivory dress. If you don't feel comfortable wearing all white, you can also get some gorgeous white dresses that have just a little bit of color in them.
davidsbridal.com and theknot.com both have a lot of pictures of dresses that you may want to check out.
Good luck with the planning

Whatever you feel comfortable with. There is no reason you can't wear a wedding dress of any sort or color, or a more simple, streamlined, elegant dress in white or ivory. Remember, this is your first wedding to each other, treat it as special. Best wishes.

since this is his first wedding Id bet he'd like to see you in a more traditional gown, and if white seems not right you could wear a ivory or champagne dress in a classic style. But I agree with most of the other posters, wear whatever you want to, it's your day, best wishes!

comprehensive length robes are for evenings. different lengths are for day. Sons of the bride could be her Escorts (no longer "giving her away" yet escorting her up the aisle) or Bridesmen, in the event that they are young ones, or adult adult males of Honor incredibly of Maids of Honor. 2nd time brides often do no longer positioned on a dress with a prepare, nor do they positioned on a veil. the two are symbols of ladies individuals who have not been married until now. although, people wreck that coaching quite in many situations at present. donning white is positive yet donning yet another shade may be positive, too.

off white is traditional but white is perfectly acceptable . you may wear any other color you like. i have even seen all black and mix of black and white weddings. it was elegant and well done. i myself prefer the traditional but nothing wrong. the important part of the ceremony is the two people ... what is not so important is what they wear.

You may wear whatever you think appropriate and looks good on you. If you like you may wear white. If you like you may wear black. If you like you may wear neon green with red polka dots. Old traditions are just that...old. They mean nothing anymore.
