To be honest, it really doesn't matter to me anymore.
If someone wants to learn and know about Islam, be it, I'll be more then glad to help, other then that, I don't really care what people say.
I've been trying for a while to show people how Islam is not "religion of terror", but that's about it. Some still love being bigots, but hey, I have nothing to loose, every person is in tittled to his/her own thoughts.
Peace.

Well, the 9/11 attacks did spread it a lot more than it was. But what it comes to is media. How boring to show people praying, going to work, going home to their families and interacting with others around them in a peaceful, respectful fashion. So many more people will tune in to see smoking wrecks of vehicles with blood stains on streets or groups of people shouting and waving their automatic weapons in the air. Who cares if the first group outnumbers the second by hundreds of thousands to one? The truth and the news are not necessarily compatible.

We see that you say, it's about peace, and then we read the news. Some of us have a dead relative or friend from those that believe that peaceful book.
All we know is that there are some saying, " Peace, peace" when there is no peace. And Islam is smack in the center of all the non peace.
What you may be experiencing is the reaction of those who see no peace in the behavior of those that believe in the Koran. So now you are viewed as being a total nutcase Islamist who doesn't want to think that Muslims are guilty of the unrest in the world.
I would say that Islam is the current channel from which Satan uses people to do his bidding. There is no other current religion so bloody.

Islam is a religion based on drawing Muhammad as much as one can in a life time. Formed by the "prophet" Mohammad more than 100 years ago, Islam may very well be an honest continuation of God's word, primely suited to guide humanity to certain death through the magic of blowing up airliners over the Atlantic Ocean.
Much like its brother in faith, Christianity, Islam is all about repression, genocide, S&M, the oppression of women and general misogamy, penis worship and Jihad.

Why did the French Wars of Religion happen ?, Why did the Recoquista and the Crusades happen ?
Religions hate other religions, they are so convinced that they are the most "righteous" or that they are "God's people", that they will go to war to prove it.
And also because some dudes wanted to reclaim Jerusalem and the Holy lands or some crap like that.
And you Conservative Christian ******* should go get farked, so far 600,000 Iraqis have been killed due to this "War on Terror", remember the "WMD" theory, I do, although during the 2004 election Americans must have forgotten about that one, or maybe it was because they were still pissed off about 9/11, maybe they believed the US Governments crap about Iraqs "links to Al-Quaeda", or maybe its because the country is full of Conserative fundamentalist weirdos, who just want to take up any chance they can get to kill muslims.

I'm christian, I don't hate Islam, how can I hate something I have no understanding in. Many don't understand it, many are scared. There are some Islamic people who are violent yet many aren't. There are some Christians who are violent but many aren't. I guess I just have my religion and Islamic people have theirs, I leave it at that. The religion is very widely misunderstood.

Tell that to it's fundamentalist followers that use it as an excuse to kill. Although a number of muslims are tolerant, peaceful people, intolerance and violence is taught in quite a few mosques around the world.

You have to understand that it goes both ways. Western churches always condemned Islam, and vice versa. Don't you think that a Christian living in the middle east would be able to ask that same question to Muslims?

I don't claim to know the answer to that one.
I think it is because of the idocracy of the religious heads of govt are shoving anti-islam propaganda into our heads.
It's stupid really... I know quite a few people affiliated with Islam, and they are excellent citizens and awesome people.
Don't hate people of certain religions just because of what the radicals of that religion do. That is the worst form of stereotyping that can happen.

Most people I know hardly even thought about Islam before 9/11.
I mostly associated it with Arab and Persian culture, which make me think of fun things like algebra (and I *love* algebra--I was a math major) and the Arabian Nights. Also Indiana Jones, since the first movie took place in Egypt (and I *love* Egypt).
