Ohio Guy,
Generally, a Church of Christ follows the Bible rather closely. To become a Christian they believe that a person must Hear GOD's WORD, Believe, Repent of his/her sins, Confess Christ as GOD'S SON, be Baptized, and Continue in Faith until death. There are Biblical References for each of these also given by their Church. Have a wonderful day.
Thanks,
Eds (An Ohio Christian also)
As for your other answer, The Non-Denominational Churches of Christ are Non-Instrumental. They realize that we are told to sing but no mention is made of musical instruments in the religious service. It is not said that the Preachers are NOT "called" but we believe that some of the gifts like speaking in tongues that were given to the Apostles are not in use today. GOD performs miracles each and every day but the preachers who claim to be able to touch a person and give them a "healing" are probably not sent by HIM. Those miracles ended with the Apostles. We may pray and ask our FATHER for things that we need and for things that our brothers and sisters in Christ need..
Thanks,
Eds

This is taken from the below cited source entitled Major Christian Denominations: How Do They Differ? reviewed by Dr. Anthony Padovano regarding Church of Christ (Disciples).
Organization: Congregational
Authority: "Where the Scriptures speak, we speak; where the Scriptures are silent, we are silent."
Special rites: Adult baptism; Lord's Supper (weekly)
Practice: Tries to avoid any rite or doctrine not explicitly part of the 1st-century church; some congregations reject instrumental music.
Ethics: Some tendency toward perfectionism; increasing interest in social action programs.
Doctrine: Simple New Testament faith; avoids any elaboration not firmly based on Scripture.
Other: Highly tolerant in doctrinal and religious matters; strongly supportive of scholarly education.

The Church of Christ believes that the Bible is the inspired Word of God. This being the case, the things taught in it are what we should follow.
The Church of Christ believes that there is no man-made doctrine that needs to be added to God's word. There is nothing we can add that would improve on the things God has given us.
In fact, if our source of doctrine is the commandments of men, then we are worshiping in vain (Matthew 15:9, Mark 7:7). Jesus said He had all authority and the apostles were to teach the things He had commanded them (Matthew 28:18-20). If we follow the authority of men, then Christ does not have all authority in our lives.
The Church of Christ wants to follow this authority by looking to the scriptures for its doctrine and teaching. "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work." (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
We don't need any other book of doctrine. In fact, if we teach anything else, we are condemned (Gal 1:6-9). Whatever we do as a church, we want to "do all in the name of (by the authority of) the Lord"! (Colossians 3:17)
We only want to be the church you can read about in the Bible - nothing more, nothing less, nothing else. We want to serve God and follow His word. We want to be Christians - nothing more, nothing less, nothing else!
Please now let me correct one of the other answers.
The members of the church of Christ can and do know if they are saved! (One does not have to believe in "once saved always saved" to know if they are saved!)
1 John 5:13 says, "These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God." According to this verse, you know you are saved by "these things written", so you know if you are saved by a comparison to the things taught in God's word!
1 John 1:7 says, "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin." You know, therefore, if you are saved by knowing where you are walking.
If you walk in the light (the light of God's word), then you have fellowship with other believers and the blood continually cleanses you from sin.
If you stop walking in the light, you have stepped out of fellowship with other Christians and you have stepped away from the cleansing blood!
The following sites may help you learn more anout the church. Thank you for your interest and this good question!

Baptism is essential; musical instruments in church is wrong; the sacrament must be taken every Sunday; churches should not have a "pastor," and you don't really know if you are saved or not. They believe there are no miracles and preachers are not really called by God, they just decide they want to be a preacher.
