2009, most likely. If the Democrats sweep in '08, it'll likely come back as a much more generous Amnesty, too, and be harder to stop.

It does not need to come back. What is needed is the enforcement of the CURRENT immigration guidelines and secured borders.
Final answer!
Never.. the immigration bill is deceased. Place flowers if you must.

I hope it doesn't come back. We have plenty of immigration laws already and they aren't being enforced. The bill that was just defeated was sort of like saying "It's too much work to catch bank robbers, so let's just make it bank robbery legal and give everyone who has already robbed one a bonus."

I assume you mean the AMNESTY bill - HOPEFULLY NEVER!

However, if Congress remains the same and we have a pro-amnesty twit as president, it will probably be back in 2009, after the election.

We don't need or want amnesty. We need border security and we have that in our current laws!

If it does it will just get shot down again. Politicians now know that if they support amnesty they will lose many votes. Americans want illegals deported, not given amnesty.

ANY bill that deals with ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION will focus on ENFORCEMENT FIRST,and It will probably be looked at by the NEW PRESIDENT. The FREE RIDE IS OVER..........

It won't come back in its original form. They will have to take the amnesty clause out, or it will never pass. I don't see that happening until the next elections.

It depends on who you vote for come election time.

It will not come back...nor will those here who defended it. They know they have lost and have run and hid.

Don't count on it Antony...the American people gave it a big bayonet wound and there's more where that came from.
