i met him and his friend at a pub and they invited my friend and me to join them. we sat and talked and they were really cute. he took my phone number and we've been sms-ing each other since, and today he phoned and we talked a bit and we're going out tommorow. i don't remember his name! neiher does my friend. what do i do? this is pretty embarrassing...

Get 2 phones, call the phone at the same time. One should go to voicemail, hopefully he will say "hey, this is xyz, leave a message". Make sure your number is blocked obviously

Just play it off as cool as you can. Say something to start a conversation about names. Let you friends in on this plan so they can help you. Maybe call one of your girlfriends the wrong name and say" Oh you look more like a Jennifer then a Rachel" That kind of thing. Then say i dont like my full name...and say your full name...first, middle and last. Then have your friend say the same and ask the boy" What is your full name" So then he will recite his full name!

forget the rest of the answers I've been there. Ask him how he spells his name. Hopefully he doesn't have a very easy name but with everyone having a different spelling for the same names he won't mind.

do a revers look up on the phone number........most websites can do it for cell phones too now.
if you don't have that....just tell him that you've been really busy and you didn't catch his full name.
this way it looks like you know his first name but not his last name.
not as bad to forget a last name as it is to forget a first name.

In conversation ask him if he has a middle name or what his last name is. Usually people will say what their complete name is.

get him to buy you something small and when he opens up his wallet ask him if you can see his id for what he looks like in his photo,it may work good luck
