I think this big 'thing' that some people have against age-gap relationships must surely rest on what age group each of the couple ARE in.
If they are very young, then that has to be considered as needing some thought if there were any type of legal issues involved.
Once you get to 30's upwards, I feel that 'age is JUST A NUMBER not an issue'
25yo male with an 18yo female would be OK cos men dont mature as fast as women, so that would be about right.
Other way round probably wouldn't work due to immaturity
If there's a 25year gap and they're over 40 that'd be ok regardless of whoever is what age
But 25yrs between female 30 and male 55, that maybe stretching it a little; Other way round would be considering the words 'grabbing a toy-boy' which never seems to go down too well in some society, and is usually frowned upon somewhat sometimes....
sorry that's just the way it is.
We are spoz to be truthful here arent we?

Age has nothing to do with anything - it is the person that matters, not there age. Age is just a number. When I was 19 I was dating a 31 year old, 20-22 I was with a 37-39 year old and I am currently 28, and dating a 42 year old, and we are very happy and have been together for 2 1/2 years.

Age gaps are a very dificult question so much depends upon the people involved, I think ten years at the very most.
Put it this way a man of 70 is likely to be feeling his age but a woman of 60 will still be very active noe increase the age gap to 15 years and I think you will understand what I mean.
Another point is a girl of 18 is a different proposition to one of say 22 they change and mature so much over that period

I was with a 29 when i was 18, it didnt last very long but it was fun at the time. He was a long term friend so i didnt have any problems with my family. I think age gaps are a personal thing to each relationship, it depends how mature the younger person is, i personally think though, that over about 12 years is abit too much.

After 18 years old age gaps mean very little. When I was 20 I was dating a 38 year old man. We got along pretty good, but it was our cultural differences that pulled us apart. People who have large (10+ years) age gaps may have some difficulty, but it isn't a guarantee. I don't think there should be a law against it nor a social stigma against it.

If I were to worry what small minded people think about couples with an age gap....I'd have never married my husband.....he's now 27 & I'm 51.
We've lasted longer than most people of the same ages that got married nearly 6 years ago.
We've been married now for getting on 6 yrs & been together for nearly 8 yrs.
If I'd have listened to all the small minded opinionated bigots out there that seem to think that same age relationships have the monopoly on successful marriages, I would have missed out on the most gorgeous, kind & loving husband I could ever have dreamed of meeting.

I think it's ok, the press seems to make a big fuss if the woman is much older than the man, i.e. Demi Moore, but if it's the other way round when a man is much older than a woman, it seems to be ok. I'm 37 and all my ex boyfriends have been younger than me, but I'm finding it hard at my age to meet men in my own age group, I have no problems meeting younger men though, younger men these days tend to prefer older women. My friend is in her early 40s and her boyfriend is 14 years younger, they met in Ibiza and are getting married this year, they are really happy. Age is just a number, follow your heart.

depends on the age of the youngest one example if one is only 16 and the outher is 31 now thats not right because the 16 year old has not had time to have a life.
but if the person is around 30 and the outher one is 45 dont think no one would mind because the older u get the less the age diffrence matters

At the age of 18 i have a formula for determining maximum dating age.
Take your age, divide it by 2 and add that number to your age.
Being 18, therefore
18/2 = 9
9+18 = 27
The oldest person you should date is 27 years old.
The youngest person will alway be no less than 18.
