I don't know her very well & would like to get to know her. I feel a gift is a good gesture but I don't know what a good gift would be.

Perhaps a small replica figure of an Egyptian statue (Metropolitan Museum of Art has a nice online catalog) would be nice, unique and a means to say that she is appreciated.

ask your finance.what kind of person she is? you get idea .before you buy gift you must find out about her nature.first impression is last impression....keep in mind.
