All dogs could potentially be house dogs. Size has nothing to do with it. Pick up a breed book from the library or the local humane society and read about different breeds. Some will stay on the small side, but if you start with a baby...it will grow. If you are concerned about a dog making a mess in the house (and that's the reason you want a "house dog") then a puppy may not be the best choice. We're talking potty training, teething, chewing, etc, etc, etc.
Think this one over long and hard...

Even in 'small' breeds, it's never always 100% accurate on how small they will remain when fully grown. Yes, Yorkies are an excellent breed to keep if you want a generally small dog.
One important point to take into consideration, however: A Yorkie may be a good small dog to have in the house BUT this is a 'terrier' and terriers do require exercise, walking outdoors, as do all breeds regardless of size.
Please weigh up all the pros and cons of dog ownership before you make a final decision.

There are toy breeds with an adult size that is small such as Chihuahuas, Yorkies, Maltese, Pomeranians, etc., but all puppies are going to grow bigger after they are born!
Check out this web site for good info on the toy breeds:

Yes, yorkies are great puppies, If you want a small dog. I wouldn't recommending a dog with a growth deformity.
It is easy to not discipline a small pup but they are dogs and need to taught how to behave so I would recommend socialisation and pup training classes.

There are small breed puppies that grow very little but they will always grow to about mom and dads size. Unless of course they have a growth deficiency. The small breed you choose is up to you, just remember most small breeds are hard to potty train and area almost always yappers.

A yorkshire terrier is okay..try a pomeranian, though. I, actually, would recommend any TOY GROUP. Dogs from the toy group are at the same time cute, loyal, and good watch dogs for your household.
I hope you get a perfect puppy that will make your life worth it. :)
