I have basic cox cable and it only costs like 50 dollars a month including tax. and when i got my first TV i went to walmart and they usually have some decent sized ones that they used for demo that are really cheap like 100 bucks that are perfectly fine.

If you just get the regular, basic, old-fashioned cable (like not digital), it's about $15 a month. That's what I have and it suits me just fine. You get all the important channels like MTV and VH1, and no crap channels that the digital cable seems to bring in, like HGTV or whatever.

As for TV's, if you're not picky about screen size, you can get a nice, smallish (13-19 inches) TV brand new at Wal-Mart for about $100. Happy viewing!
