I have a[ toy rat terrier whos ear all of a sudden swollen and it keeps getting larger. i heard its something called an oral hemotoma but isnt oral your mouth??

It sounds like a hematoma (blood vessel broke, ear filling w/blood), most often caused by head shaking due to ear infections.Your dog must see a vet asap, not only are they very painful, but they most often require surgery. I'll try to find some links for you.

Take it to the vet. It's either an infection or a hemorrhage, either way it needs treatment.

the dog may have a fox tail in his ear. or even ear mites.

It's probably an insect bite or sting, but you should call your vet and have him seen.
