I work with nuns and I think you are wrong about virginity - however, it isn't required. I work with one who was married, and has 4 children.
The only requirement is celibacy, not virginity.

You have no evidence that most nuns are not virgins. I guess that you believe that you are perfect and never sin. You tone is not only nasty but self righteous.
I am willing to bet that you know that you are a sinner too and that you are unwilling to give up your sins. However, you are bothered that there are people who do not practice your particular sins so you wish to smear them with the brush of hypocrisy accusations.
I am going to ask some nuns to pray for you. Ha Ha!

Some were and some were not. It is none of my business.
Virginity is not a requirement to be a nun, deacon, priest, bishop, or pope.
The requirement is celibacy after taking the vow of celibacy.
You are correct. We are all sinners.
However if only perfect people taught people about how God wants us to live then no one would ever be able to teach people about how God wants us to live.
Jesus did not pick perfect people as his Apostles and disciples.
With love in Christ.

there is a certain order of nuns that has to be virgins.
the rest and the priests and popes - take vows of celibacy - not virginity
remember they are not born into servitude of the Lord, they get the calling as they grow older
they preach being good and faithful, not being celibate.
and they repented for their sins and were forgiven - all is forgiven and you move on.
when you forgive someone you don't keep bringing it up, because then you truly haven't forgiven

It is NOT my place nor YOUR place to judge nor speculate about the virginity of either males nor females that served in the ministry. God will judge them.
You just take care of YOU and allow those who care about you discipline you once in a while (out of concern). If you elect to be immoral, then don't hold those who pointed out the error of your ways as somehow "claiming to be righteous". You are displaying an aire of unrighteousness yourself thru the connotation of your question and added comments.
I'm not, and you ain't perfect either! Now, just chill!

1Ti 4:1 But the Spirit expressly says that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and teachings of demons,
1Ti 4:2 speaking lies in hypocrisy, being seared in their own conscience,
1Ti 4:3 forbidding to marry, saying to abstain from foods which God has created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.

I have not had any intimate acquaintance with Popes or nuns, so cannot say, and am not familiar with any research done in this area.
