So how many of you like a girl to ask you out? I've always been more traditional and waited for guys to ask me but lately my dating has been below par and I'm thinking its because guys are expecting me to do the asking. So how do you feel about it? Is it too forward? Do you get a certain "expectation" from girls who ask you out?

I would like it. I know that I don't read women well. I have had many lady friends but, beyond that I cannot tell. At least I would know if she were interested romantically and start things from there. Too forward? Not really. Expectations? Other than having a good time together, none other.

Why not have a lady ask? Then you can choose who you would like to go out with. Instead of waiting for the "guy" to ask you out. Just predicate on that you were interested in him.

I think most guys like it.

- It takes the pressure off us

- It's nice when someone expresses an interest

- It shows the girl has confidence and takes initiative.

" I'm thinking its because guys are expecting me to do the asking."

Guys in general don't expect it, so I doubt that's it. It could be just a dry spell. We all get those.

Honestly I've never been asked out in the traditional way. I have had two women who called me and set up a casual meeting. One called and invited me to a movie with her and her friend and things just progressed from there. The other just asked me over for a drink and again things went from there. But I've never had a woman walk up to me and say "Hi, I'm _______ . would you like to go out sometime?" I think I would be uncomfortable with that approach but it may be my age. I'm in my 40's.

Yep that's what you get for doing nothing. The problem isn't that the guys are expecting you to ask them it's that you're expecting them to ask. That's not traditional that's cowardly.

Sorry but if you want something and you do nothing to get it you can only blame yourself.

A lot of "nice" guys wont ask. Women can be pretty harsh sometimes, and rejection can be tough for some guys. So maybe you should. If you are not getting any signals of attraction, I wouldn't bother though.

who doesn't like getting asked out. I personally find it very difficult to ask a girl out so please tell all your friends and everyone you know that there is nothing wrong with a girl asking a guy out for once.

not at all, if you ask a guy out it is because you like him! this is not so bad, and your going to think that his will not say yes, only if he's scared! ask me out anytime and my answers always yes!!! i ask a girl out all the time. so say yes, some say i have someone. only thinking positive works!!

why does love have all these rules, why do you have to date somebody you like and why are pp so scared to say they like somebody?
If you like somebody whether you are a boy or a girl man or woman, I think you should make friends with them and feel things out. if he makes you laugh and she makes you laugh then you should hang out. Its not a doctors appointment.

some guys are more afraid of rejection than girls are. if you're willing to take the chance - you do the asking.
