Regular dairy products can make cholesterol levels higher but if you switch to non-fat product versions they won't negatively affect your levels.

Yogurt is so good for you that you should try the new non-fat versions instead of giving it up.

You could also add oatmeal into your diet. Oatmeal contains soluble fiber which can absorb cholesterol and eliminate it. Your best choice is plain oatmeal. If you opt for the flavored varieties you'll be adding too much sugar which can also affect levels plus several of the flavored types have added fat.

You should also try to add 100% whole grain breads ( not mixed grains or whole grain ) it must say 100%. These like oatmeal can help lower your ldl levels.

A great smoothie is one made from
1 cup skim milk
1 scoop of whey powder
1/2 banana (or 1/2 cup of your favorite fruit)
1/2 cup cooked oatmeal (you can cook it the day before and put it in cold or use the instant oatmeals and microwave it)

Add a hand full of ice and blend. I will sometimes change the milk to 1/2 cup and then add 1 container of non-fat yogurt.

It's not only good for you but it tastes good, but it's low in fat, low in calories, high in vitamins, high in calcium, high in protein and the fiber will help keep you full for quite a while.

Try it I think that you will like it.
