Of course we're not, We live in a 'conservitive' society where everyone who isnt a white, middle class straight male is a threat to society. A great example of the lack of freedom is the fact a law was passed in the UK in 2005 that meant you had to alert the police if you were gonig to organize a demonstration which means thay can plan for it to fail.

We need to return to a democracy and stop slowly becoming a dictatorship

I don't know where you live, but even with all of the cameras, etc. here in America we are definitely a free society. People always speak out against the government on tv, radio, in all of the media, hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants marched without being arrested and people have even burned our flag in protests and are not arrested. We can travel wherever we want, choose where we live, where and who we worship, have as many children as you want. How much freer could a country be? We are a country at war and trying to stay safe from terrorist activity so the cameras, GPS systems and phone monitoring don't affect my life in any way other than to keep us safer in my opinion. Those things were put into place to watch for bad people , not the ordinary citizen with nothing to hide.We are blessed to live in such a free environment. If you don't think we are free here, go abroad and you will have your eyes opened as to how fortunate you are.

we are residing in a loose society because of the fact we are loose the stay the yank Dream. what's that dream? properly democrats say that it is working perplexing and turning out to be the a million% that's impossible to realize so that they sell welfare. rather the dream is possessing a house, raising a relatives, working a job you are able to savour that has advantages and provides our extra the longer you paintings there (like holiday, larger pay, etc) and this is no longer approximately being rich. My dad raised owned a house, diverse autos, and sent all of his young ones to college who now have/pursuing graduate ranges whilst working his finished existence at a production facility. He became into sensible together with his money and a similar may be reported approximately many others. Did he stay the final of existence, no. yet he did gain numerous issues. He owned a house, raised young ones that went directly to alter into quite knowledgeable, and is now a grandpa. we are loose in this united states of america and those that don't think of so are stupid or lazy. And to those that are stupid or lazy provide up ruining it for those which attempt to stay the yank Dream.

Actually ,"speak our minds freely about our country, countrymen or government without reprecussions"

This is about the only freedom we have left. Everything else seems to require permission

So, we don't have the right to speak out against our country? And how is this right being abridged?

Personally, you haven't mentioned anything that concerns me about "lose of freedom".
My cell? cool, if I get in an accident and can't make a call, I can be traced.

Is my home phone being bugged? Doubtful, but if it is, it's gonna put the listener to sleep.

And about this "not able to speak your mind freely"? You just did, and I'm pretty sure no one is gonna be knocking on your door anytime soon.

We have only five days left to defend a free and open Internet
at the FCC. The agency needs to hear from you about Net
Neutrality -- the principle that stops AT&T, Verizon and Comcast
from controlling where you can go online.

Thousands of people have already told their stories (see below)
urging the FCC to protect Net Neutrality. Now it's your turn:

Tell the FCC to Save the Internet:
www.savetheinternet.com/yourstory

You need to act now before the FCC closes its comment period. If
we flood them with comments in support of Net Neutrality, the
FCC will be pressed to stand up to the giant phone and cable
companies that seek to undermine free choice on the Web.

freedom must come with responsibility however when what I do in the privacy of my home becomes the governments business then no we are no longer free.
you have to balance personal freedom with the risks you are prepared to accept for that freedom.
and when you refuse to risk harm in return for freedom then some in power will use that fear to gain more control/power under the guise of "security" which really amounts to security for them to do what they please without the oversight of the rest of us.
power consolidates and then seeks more power, it is up to us to make sure that power doesn't always mean corruption

Interesting. Kinda is the answer.
Half of what you listed is not true.
And I like the Terrorists being Wiretapped.
Good Deal!! Already has saved thousands of American lives.

You left our our Biggest Loss of Freedom------TAXES.
The more taxes you have to pay, the less Freedom you have.
(Unless you are on Welfare, like most Democrats.)

Nope, I can't honestly say that we are really free; not with things such as the Patriot Act around

i think that we should not be able to say "the land of the free and the home of the brave:" anymore, until we return to honoring the constitution.

We are not as free as americans were at one time. The elite are slowly relinquishing our freedoms, and like a frog slowly being heated up in a pot of water, most of us are not even aware of it.
