Yes, mileage where you drive you own car is deductible. Keep your receipts, but usually it's a per mile deduction, so keep track of all miles driven for work as well as the number of hours in a day that the car is used for work versus personal.
Unfortunately, this is the problem with commission jobs. The more commissions you make, the better off you'll be.

As long as you save your gas receipts and record your gas mileage daily, you can use both on your taxes. What you need to check is when you were hired, was it a requirement for you to utilize your own vehicle for work. Seems to me that your boss is trying to get in over on you.

Whenever I travel for my company, I get reimbursed for any money I spend on gas. If I drive my own vehicle, I also get a mileage allowance. It seems lousy that you are having to pay for it without reimbursment, but as long as you save receipts, you can claim them as a business expense on your taxes

you need to keep acurate records of your miles to your clients. You can claim them on your taxes there is a formula you need to use so you might want to check it out. The federal standard is .485cents per mile so you don't get back everything you use on gas but everything helps. You might want to use a cerdit card for gas while working and keep your mapquest papers or however you get to your appointments incase of an audit for like 7yrs or however long you need to keep recipts. I travel for my job buy my job reimburses for miles at the federal standard that is how i know. Since my job does this i can't also do it on my taxes but you can

You need to ask your BOSS for an allowance for your automobile if he wants you to drive your own car, such as such and such amount for mileage, which will cover your cost
of gas and wear and tear on your car.
You're probably not making any sales, and your boss feels that by telling you to use your own car, you will make a graceful exit.

With petrol prices being what they are, you will have to make some handsome money to justify this. Or even afford it. This sounds vaguely like blackmail to me. I would start looking. If you are good, you deserve to be treated that way.
