I am happily married, with a child, and awaiting another one. I just want to know for my 12 (soon to be 13) year old niece if there are people out there who focus only on the looks. I never had those problems, as a matter of fact, I really didn't suffer much with boys and looks, my husband is unique. But since my beloved niece is a little chubby, (not so much) but really pretty and with a great personality, considering today's youth, will there be anyone who will accept her for who she is and look past her appearance into her personality?

To me, looks contribute greatly to a first impression. If she has a pretty face, that can win me over. Anything more is bonus. After physical attraction (during this first impression), the personality HAS to be there for there to be any "dating" possibility...

It is not all about looks but it helps to take care of yourself...you are going to be looking at eachother all of the time. She's a little too young to be dating but I am sure she will definitely find someone at the right time who will love her for who she is.
