Is it like being in a dream? Do you ever have moments of clarity?

jeez people don't get bent. I'm honestly curious. It's truly amazing to me that people actually think that invisible gods rule people's lives.

everytime I read the bible and listen to hateful, judgmental fear based scriptures, I just want to change my ways and become an atheist....and an evolutionist, a futurist...

Belief in the parousia is found in many religions. Judaism has its Meshach, Christianity its Messiah, Islam its Mahdi.

In the South Pacific there is a religion called the Cargo Cult. The people there worship a fake airplane made of grass and wait for the return of the savior who will arrive by air to rule over them righteously and will bring them all kinds of gifts (the "cargo").

*Yawn.*

All these "second coming stories." So much self-delusion.

Let's hear instead about those WMDs in Iraq. Who needs REALITY? Huh?

As a person who is old enough and tried to live both ways,

I assure you that the only moments of clarity that I have had were as a Christian.

Don't buy into all the hype, study for yourself. I used to be just like you!

Good Luck in your journey, I hope you find true happiness.

Peace!

Hey, don't leave the rest of us out! It's not just Christians that live a life of self-delusion!

It's pretty great. I can highly reccomend it to anyone who doesn't plan on doing something useful with their life like curing diseases or making new technology. Those kinds of things require entirely too much objective reality to be compatible with fantasy, adventure, or high romance.

Its neat living 5 miles away from EPCOT and 7 miles away from the Magic Kingdom.

The time of the week which is most clear is when I'm attending church Sunday mornings.

When we study as a group, the Word of God.

A dream, yes, a dream come true. As far as clarity, every moment is pretty clear because I have focus, meaning and purpose in my life. A fantasy world would be something that clouded my judgment, like drugs, alcohol, casual sex, but thank God my faith keeps me strong enough to avoid those things. Hope that answers your question.

How is it like living in a world of fairy tales for Atheists?

That we all where created in a soup made of water and rock and then little fish like critters spontaneously appeared and they evolved into horses and elephants and human beings billions and billions of years ago.

All fairy tales start like that you know, once upon a time, billions and billions of years ago...........blah blah blah......

I rather believe in an intelligent creator. It makes more sense to intelligent people like Isaac Newton, Einstein, Max Planck, Leonardo Da Vinci, etc....etc....

I have no idea. Again, no idea. Yes, the moments of clarity come surprisingly frequently.

My life is real--you are mistaken--my moments of clarity are when I'm at church with my fellow believers.
