Adam and Eve were banned from Eden, and subject to pain, suffering, disease, old age, and eventually death, because of the curse of God as described in Genesis chapter 3. But if Adam's (and Eve's) sin applies only to them, then why are WE subject to Adam's curse? Why can't we just walk back into Eden and live forever, pain free and disease free, if we are not sinful too?
Obviously I am curious what is the Muslim, Mormon, and/or the Jewish explanation of why God allows suffering, pain and death.
Most branches of Christianity simply accept the explanation by the Apostle Paul that when Adam & Eve sinned, they somehow contaminated the collective human spirit in such a way that we are born selfish with an inherited predisposition toward sin that somehow offends God.
Since not all monotheistic, Abrahamaic religious accept Paul's explanation, then how do they explain why death and suffering is universal, instead of being observed only among "sinful" people?

Well, I can't really answer for other religions, but I was wondering about what you said.
I thought it was just that we aren't perfect (obviously, since we disobeyed God even before knowing good from evil), thus we will sometimes choose evil over good. We have accountability for our actions and thoughts because we've known the difference between good and evil ever since Adam and Eve ate from the tree. I hadn't heard of some vague "contamination of the collective human spirit."
I'm interested in hearing your response...

Death is universal because of an apparant "planned obsolescence" ( of some non-speaking grand designer?), the body wears out, breaks down , has nothing to do with sin. suffering is to all because the laws of nature apply to all. Two people step off a ledge, 1 good and 1 bad , both fall, its called gravity, anything less is silly superstition.

Suffering is the result of the way things are. People (and other living things) die because of aging, accidents, etc. Sin does not exist. All of it is because of nature. People do cruel things to others simply because they do. They may not know it is wrong, or know it is wrong and do it for some other motive. All of this goes back to our animal origins, where we needed these things to surive. That is what divides the animals from "civilized" human beings: we should know better.
Deist (one god), BTW.

We die because everything ceases to exist. It doesn't matter if the thing is alive, like a plant or animal, or not alive, like a rock or a star. Nothing lasts forever. And I personally find that comforting. It's the natural order of things that I'm going to die, me, my pets, my family, my civilization, and my planet will all turn into a memory. I wouldn't want to live forever if all I had left was a failing body and memories. As for someone long ago pissing a deity off, so that humanity is cursed forever to die, it comforts me to know that ideas and concepts of deities die as well.

the inherent ignorance in your question almost completely deters me from answering but for the sake of arguement...
Do you really believe that humans die because of some mythical event in a mythical garden? The story was made up to explain things people did not understand in those times, just like the story of noah's ark to explain the rainbow etc. Here's something for you to wrap your brain around. Does the story of adam and eve also apply to all living things? If not why do they not live forever as well? Please study soome factual information. We used myths like that eons ago to explain things we did not understand, in today's times that we understand a lot more, we do not need those myths anymore. Holding on to them is like insisting on keeping your eyes shut when you can easily open them and see

We die because of the fact it truly is the 1st step to time return and forth. you have been given eternal existence. Born, enjoyed via God, enjoyed via mom and pa, you found out soreness, you found out excitement, you led to soreness, you grew, you raised generations, moved mountains, you die. --> eternal existence, do it as quickly as greater. all of it, wiser, greater proper, greater advantageous. know that the Holy Spirit of God is interior you. Adam and Eve weren't punished. God envisioned them to fail. eternal existence is lots greater proper than eternal Heaven. you need to no longer know excitement devoid of having ever experienced soreness. The backyard of Eden could be ceaselessly uninteresting, devoid of intercourse, no needs, no desires, it may besides be Hell. The e book of Genesis is an mind-blowing piece of literature, besides the undeniable fact that it truly is awareness is all symbolic. you could no longer totally savour it until you adventure your existence suitable. once you're married devoid of toddlers, it truly is such as you and your spouse are in you backyard of Eden. You dread having toddlers know which you would be able to never be nude all of the time as quickly as you have toddlers. it truly is symbolism. If Jesus let us know that we've eternal existence with the Lord, what are you doing to Create a greater proper destiny on your Resurrection. God's human beings faithfully doing God's Will. How's that for Creationism!!!((evolutionary))

We die to live. Its the cycle of life. If none of us died, the world be over. There would be too many people and we would have all starved to death because there would be no resources.
"Sin" is subjective. What your faith finds "sinful" I find completly fine ie Homosexuality, and so does my faith. Just depends on your point of view.
