Cornmeal is just ground corn.
Jiffy corn muffin mix is cornmeal, flour and leavening.
Essentially, Jiffy can be viewed as a recipe from the side of a cornmeal box that someone mixed ahead of time.

Nope. The corn muffin mix has other ingredients like sugar. Cornmeal is just that - cornmeal

No. Although alot of recipes will substitute it for cornmeal, it has alot sweeter taste than regular cornmeal. If you make cornbread I suggest real cornmeal, but if you are making corn muffins (which are sweeter) then jiffy works well.

No , Jiffy corn muffin mix has cornmeal in it and dry ingredients to make corn muffins. Its a premix.
Cornmeal is ground corn. you have to add flour etc to make corn bread etc.

Has some other stuff added to the cornmeal to make up the mix. I have used it as a cornmeal breading on fish.The link has some other recipes.

It's not the same--it's cornmeal with all the leaveners in it--but should have the recipe for Johnny cakes on the side or back of the box.

no, corn muffin mix has flour in it and leavening agents (baking soda? baking powder?) possibly powered milk solids.
If you need cornmeal, you should not use corn muffin mix
