I have studied your religion more then most of you, and it seems to me that you have given up a lot of your principles to become more like the world, so that you wont be persecuted and now you persecute the ones that have'nt given those things up, I think you know who I'm talking about. So please tell me why you gave those things up, and why do you persecute those people?

If you have "studied the Mormon religion" which Mormon religion are you talking about? The Warren Jeffs marry little girls to their uncles religion? The "community of Christ" which is in the process of denying their roots? I wonder if you have actually studied the Latter-day Saint theology and if so, where did you get the persecution thing out of it? I don't see anybody persecuting anybody else except the "evangilists" who stand outside the temple grounds in Salt Lake City screaming "whore" at the the new brides. Or scream with their signs how they are all going to hell at the visitors for General Conference in April and October standing only a few feet from them.. I live in the heart of "Happy Valley" and get along really well with my neighbors who don't attend the same church I do. I don't see anybody persecuting them. In fact we had a church breakfast on the Fourth of July and many of my neighbors of different faiths attended with us, including pastors of two other churches and we had a wonderful get-together.

I also don't understand what you are saying I have "given up". Is it getting beat up by a potentially drunken husband because we don't drink alcohol? Or the fact that I wear BYU dress standards and dont go around showing my boobs and my belly button. Or the fact that I only wear one set of earrings and not five, because our leaders have asked us to? Or is it choosing not to attend R rated movies. Just what is it then?

The main persecution I remember is my ancestors who were given an "extermination order" from the governor of the state of Missouri, and also who were by mobs in Illinois forced to leave their homes and walk across the frozen Mississippi in the middle of February after their leaders had been murdered. Who is persecuting and about what?

If you are speaking of the so-called Mormon Fundamentalists, I don't persecute them. If they break the law, it is the government's business.

I joined the church as it is, not as it might have been in the 19th century. I didn't give up on any principles. The ones I accepted still keep me from becoming "like the world".

I adhere to all the principles that have been revealed as church practice/doctrine by the prophets. I persecute no one.

You'll have to be a little more specific if you want a better answer.

Sorry, I'm not sure what ou're talking about. We don't persecute anyone. And we have not given up anything that God didn't tell us to give up.

You mean give up the immoral sexual predatory practices, blatant racial segregation, violent and grisly gestures in the temple, Blood Oaths and the suppression of women's rights?

We got a presidential candidate, brother! We gotta look as normal as possible!

Besides, we're keeping the last thing about women's rights...
