You dont have to count calories burned doing cardio because believe me there is no way a machine can tell you that precisely - all you need to count is time doing cardio.
are you getting enough protein in your diet?
if you are not eating enough you are not gona lose fat.
find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio is the only fat burning exercise and burns fat all over your body (running, jogging, swimming, spinning, elliptical etc) 4-6 times a week for 30-50min (ideally 45min because the first 20-30min body burns carbs and only then starts burning fat), light weight training (more muscle=faster metabolism)
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

I honestly don't know when your weight will start going away, but I will tell you the way that I have been loosing my weight.
I have gone from 250, to 210 in about 5 months.
I went to my highschool and climbed the stairs on the stadiums, I did 5 or 6 the first few times, and then I increased them as I went, I'm up to around 10 or 11 now, but I also swim too.
I watched what I eat, but I still eat my normal foods, I eat like I usually do accept in proportions.
So like a plate of spaghetti, I'd limit it down to one scoop and then once it was gone, I drank water.
If you just stay up on your exercises and whatnot, the weight should come right off.
Good luck.

You are only eating fruits, veggies and bread?
Try to reduce the bread and pasta and add some lean protein like chicken or fish.
Also remember that while you might not be losing any weight right now, you could be losing inches. The workouts could actually be helping you gain muscle (which weighs more than fat).
Keep up the good work and don't get discouraged. The weight will come off eventually. Slow and steady wins the race!

It will probably take over a week to see a difference in your weight - your body has to start burning off all the fat, which doesn't happen instantaneously. If you continue your diet (although I would say eat fruit - but no bread, white sugar, and choose flax seed oil instead of butter) and portion control you will see results eventually. Also if you count your calories - no more than 1,200 a day you will also see results.

Muscle dictates metabolism! Keep working out to build the muscle (you might notice a weight gain at first because muscle weighs more than fat), but once the muscle is there, your metabolism will kick in and you will start to melt the pounds away! Of course, you have to continue to eat sensibly, but don't starve yourself because then your body will start to store the fat!
If you are drinking diet soda - STOP! Artificial sweetner Aspartame actually chemically damages the part of your body that allows you to lose weight!

Dude don't panic you have trained less than 2 weeks ! I doubt you will see a difference for a while but when you train using weights you will build muscle, muscle is heavier than fat. Also if your gym has instructors, which it should, they will be able to put you on a specific program. Stick to fresh fruit and veggies and protein, less carbs. Good luck.

Mustard is a secret bulge-buster. The idea boosts your metabolism and improves natural ephadrine, the hormone that burns fat. According to Jeya Holly, professor of human nutrition on Oxford Brookes University, just a tablespoon with your food can reduce a flabby waist by 20 per cent!

In the book The Secret, Rhonda Byrone has given beautiful suggestions how to reduce the weight - among many things. The Secret deals with law of attraction. Powerful thoughts for the perfect weight without allowing doubts/fearful thoughts to enter the mind. The universal law responds to your thoughts. When you think one sustained thought (in your case perfect weight) the law of attractions bring more like thoughts to you. In short you are summoning the perfect weight through persistant thoughts of perfect weight. Your feelings are also important. Once you decided to have the pefect weight, then dont have parallal doubts. You feel pefect weight, you visualise perfect weight, you start being happy about the perfect weight. You start visualing yourself in the best dresses with that perfect weight. You start being happy with all the attention that you get with that perfect weight. Eating habits are very important. your mind has to be in the present, when you chew the food, enjoying the essense of food. Food never makes any one fat. Read the book and follow the guidelines. Best wishes.

The simplest thing you can do is:
1) avoid bread and sweets (that includes soft drinks)
2) exercise regularly
It takes some time but it's the healthy and effective way to lose weight. It works for me!

Mr A....If you are hitting the gym 5 days a week, chances are that you are burning fat, and you're building muscle too. If the intensity of your work out is rather extreme you are no longer performing aerobic exercise but anaerobic which builds muscle and does not burn fat. This is good though, because the more muscle you build ultimately the more fat you will burn. Stay focused and stick with it, you will eventually see the results you're searching for.
