the closest one is Lancaster Airport in the outskirts of Lancaster,NY and there's another one called Buffalo Niagara International Airport in the border of Buffalo,NY and Cheektowaga,NY.

Alden is on the eastern edge of Erie County. Buffalo Niagara International (or whatever it is called this week) is located in Cheektowaga, about 20-30 minutes west of Alden. It's a very easy drive. The airport handles US Airways, Southwest, Delta, JetBlue, American, United, etc.
Lancaster airport is for very small, private planes. Unless you have one of those, it would be of no use to you.
