Everyone has told you about 320 miles.
But remember another thing when estimating the time. The 101 is a longer drive time-wise. It is not a freeway the entire way and becomes a highway in quite a few towns a long the way. In those areas you will hit some traffic lights. It's not Urban driving in those towns but it is not as fast as a freeway.
It is however, more scenic than the I-5!

Depending on traffic, mainly in the LA area, and how heavy your foot is, it could be between 4 to 6 hours.
