I think you are stretching here a bit.... most people who now write the news are idiots and probably don't know enough to discern a difference......don't take it personally....

Wow, that's not a big deal... really. So a church gets struck by lightning, that happens all the time and means absolutely nothing. You're simply making an assumption that it would be different were a catholic church struck, but you've really got little basis for that. The double standard exists in your mind which seems to suggest some insecurity with your beliefs...
When churches show up in the news it seems random whether the denomination is mentioned or not. It doesn't seem to be some purposeful slight against any particular religion.
Unless you're watching Fox News of course, they tend to spin everything to their narrowly defined beliefs...

Well the Pope says that Protestant churches aren't true churches anyway! So maybe we Baptists are not worthy enough to make the head lines.
I was just being sarcastic - LOL.

Honestly, I could see a Catholic church getting more press because their churches typically have more detailed architecture.
Other than that, I think there is no base that one would be more than the other.

Because many think of the Catholic church and all the others. Not that Catholic are better but because all the others are all Christians (the majority) and everyone knows that Catholics are not really Christians. (so some say)

Because it is basically irrelevant. Churches tend to be tall structures, and many are struck by lightning every year.
