I remember reading somewhere that it takes approximately 20 minutes for your stomach to feel full after it has actually become full!

Why is this?

Your right, it does take 20 mins. It's to do with enzyme secretion and nerve stimulation travelling up your vagus nerve (if my memories of anatomy & physiology at uni are right). This is why they say to eat then wait half an hour to see if you are full.

Cus it takes time to digest the food and absorb it into the body, it has to be broken down by enzymes and absorbed into the blood.

That's why you should eat slowly so you don't end up eating too much and feeling too full.

haha i have no idea.. but this happens to me all the time!

i'll eat something and still feel hungry but i stop eating and about 15 to 20 minutes later, i feel full
weirdest thing ever man!

Mine takes 2 hours, so by the time it gets there I have already had 7 cream cakes.
