I'm getting married in less than two months. I don't maintain a relationship with my son's father outside of money and visitation. How do I make him aware of the change that is about to take place as far as the step parent entering our son's life? And when do I do it? Prior to the wedding or after? By the way, his soon to be step father is already a very active part of my son's life and they adore eachother. My son's biological father isn't very involved outside of his childsupport payments... he sees him very infrequently and sporadically... at best once every two months, if that.
Thank you for your suggestions.

Email would probably be the easiest and most comfotable way for you to do it. I suggest doing it before the wedding because if you do it after he will feel uninformed and unimportant...(men are like that). But it doesnt matter what he says or thinks. As long as your son get along with your soon to be hubbie, thats all that matters.

tough call. on one hand id'say don't tell him. it's not like it would matter. on the other hand,b/c he is the childs bio father, he kind of has a right to know if another person is living in the same house with his son.(even if he is a putz) i think maybe you should just be the bigger person and let him know you are getting married. offer to introduce them and see what happens.congrats on your marraige.

I wouldn't worry about it until they come face to face. Just say, ex - this is my new hubby. Or maybe call ex and tell him you are getting married and say his name. Congratulations on the wedding.

Get em' both a little bit drunk. Just a suggestion, and the emphasis is on "little."
