Sounds like a good idea. They might be forced to accept one another. Living with the people who cause you to be unwholesome can promote open-mindedness. The Christians really have no excuse to be this way, as their religion is supposed to be one of tolerance to all people. As for the Atheists, it all depends whether they follow an Atheistic religion, or none at all.

If they do, then I'm sure there is some part of their religion that is directed at tolerance. If not, however...

Perhaps the ones who follow no religion at all simply haven't found theirs yet. I started life as a Christian, but rejected the faith as a child. Therefore I was an Atheist (with no religious beliefs), yet I was still officially a Christian. I have now found my place, with no less than 2 Atheistic religions that I follow, and I no longer need to class myself as a Christian.

To those people with no religion, I would suggest visiting http://www.beliefnet.com and taking their belief'o'matic quiz. It processes what your beliefs are, and gives you a list of religions that you relate to. And then if you're still unconvinced, you're a definite non-believer. But you'll be surprised. I didn't have to be. All that time I spent as a non-believer, I was actually following a religion, and I didn't know.

I've been following one of my religions for about 6 months, and the other one for around 6 weeks. i took the quiz 2 days ago, and it confirmed that these religions both suit my own beliefs, so I know now that I belong.

I think it would be confusing for Christians.

A couple of days with me and they'd think they were in hell. A couple more days and they would think their god had abandoned them. Two more after that and they'd realise that no sane god would leave a true believer in such a situation, and then......

They would suddenly see the light (no, don't say it) and they would understand that in that case, there obviously could not be a god. At which point we would get along fine.

So it would be a good thing.

Well, there'd be less fighting for a bit because a lot of the more obnoxious ones would be dead, but I'm sure that the internet would provide plenty more to replace them soon enough.

You'd need a tent bigger than a 2 man or I could see a lot of fighting breaking out.

Not to be a poor sport, but I'd guess that religion would be off-topic for an evening out of respect for each other.

-Christian- who realizes conversions come naturally not forced.

That would be interesting, and I do love camping. But I don't eat tuna, so can I bring marshmallows?

Doubtful -- I hate camping, and tunafish; and it would just make me grouchier and end up ruining everyone else's good time.

I *will* take the Snickers bar, though....

How would THAT help? Ants in our pants, no way to blow dry our hair, dangerous wildlife, musty tents, did I mention bugs?

Sounds like a way to make us all crankier!

That would probably spark some of the most interesting conversations.
