but believe a god can come from 'nothing'?
'He has always been there' is the same as saying the 'universe has always been there' Do these people just want to believe as the god theory promises an afterlife but a scientfic theory never would!

The only thing you get from nothing is nothing. How then can the universe exist at all, if it came from nothing? Makes no sense.

You just don't get it do you!!! Inventing a god is getting something from nothing!

Because our tiny minds can't accept that if we can't think of it, it can't possibly be true.

Time and before and existence are all concepts we humans defined for ourselves. We are limited, so all of our ideas are limited, too.

This is not an easy question because of the infinite unknown variables. Although "God" may not be the answer, the idea that nothing comes from nothing seems strange too. Evolution is one thing, but the idea that a total vacum ( which technically could not exist since a vacum is a relative term which could not exist relative to nothing) could spontaneously create all the matter in the universe is not exactly foolproof. Even in cases of spontaneous mutations or chemical reactions there is something to react to. What force could possibly make nothing suddenly react to nothing and form something. That same dilemma exists even if you say God invented it all because it begs the question of where did God come from.

If it had to guess, it would be loosely defined model based on alternate laws of physics that distort time and our perception of reality. In other words, somehow at the very least, some basic matter and/or energy has always existed. even if it was a piece of dust, or "cosmic egg" , nothing generating nothing cannot logically be explained based on current physical models.

Because the theoretical basis for it is somewhat weak. We won't know for sure until someone comes up with a theory of everything which adequately predicts it. Not gonna happen anytime soon; Einstein spent the last years of his life looking for such a theory but never found one. Neither has anyone else. But, notwithstanding this difficulty, there is still no good reason to insert a deity into the act: it is impossible in principle to do so and have a system which can make useful predictions, so any belief in a deity is worthless.

It's because people are ignorant, and can't possibly accept the fact that evolution and the big bang theory ACTUALLY MAY HAVE HAPPENED. Me? I tend to lean towards science than religion. When I have to choose between faith and proof, I usually go with proof.

i dont think thats it
i think as a society (Christian), we have come to just simply accept the fact that God "has always been"
but when it comes to other things like the universe coming from nothing and always being there.. it gets complicated
and that comes from the many many different scientific ideas taught in schools and universities and on television

They don't believe because we haven't found the answers yet but this doesn't mean they should just conveniently insert the word "God" for things science has no answer to.

It is against logical thinking to get something from nothing.

That's the argument. While it is difficult to conceptualize "before" the big bang, it is far easier to do that than believe some big-old sky fairy did it all.

We believe something can come from nothing. He has always been. It is we who question the "scientific" people when they state that life can come from nothing. That doesn't follow any scientific principle that I know.
