Keep a journal of your days and night, and what you are thinking about (him).
Put it in a nice cover, wrap it and give it to him. Kind of a diary of the time when he was gone. You get to open up release some of your emotions and he gets to come back and know that you were with him in a sense all the time.

well hang out with friends or family and have a good time get your mind off him for a little while try going to see a movie or go shopping ..that is really sweet.. i always miss my bf when he's gone overnight

call him, email or hangout with your friends. do anything to keep yourself busy so that you can't have to time to think on how much you miss him.
