When he was released from active duty he received a LES, (Leave and Earnings Statement) with his final pay. This is an accurate record of his leave balances and is controlled by the DFAS, (Defense Finance and Accounting Service). You can contact DFAS through the payroll clerk at his unit and obtain a copy. This should clear up the issue.

First off get his LES statement. The one before the error. Then he can contact his orderly room if he is enlisted contact the First Sgt.. They can bump his LES from his folder and since they are not showing any leave slips they should help him get his time back from personnel. The Personnel section should also have the back up tapes before his reup papers went in they can bump the papers against that and see if any leave request was put into the system. Hope this helps.

He needs to go to his admin people and see what is up. Leave does not just disappear. Either he had use it or lose it leave that he lost because he didn't use it or he hasn't been turning in his leave chit when he return from leave and they have been force charging his leave which will max out whatever was on his leave chit even if he didn't take that many days. Leave is done by several people as a checks and balance thing with the computer system. If can't just disappear on its own. He needs to be a big boy and go ask his people for an accounting record of how his leave was charged to his leave account.

Sawnee, the military has a leave database that they can access.
The way to address on his end though is to take a copy of the LES prior and after the leave magically disappeared as well as any leave forms that show what he took during that period, through his NCO to personnel and file for a correction.
It's always frustrating when the military screws up paperwork, but the trick is to learn how to get the corrections made and to do it, rather than get mad. **it happens.

Other than looking for the lost papers, there is nothing you can do. Your husband is the military member and as such, legally, only he can look into this. I would have him go online and print out whatever pay statments he can from the most recent to as far back as they may go. The amount of leave he had earned and saved would show up on there. Also, he can go to the orderly room (or whatever the equivalent would be for his branch of service..the place that he hands in leave requests and gets leave slips from) and ask them to do a search of any leave requests and unused days they may have recorded. Hope this helps.

I don't know why you need papers. Mypay.com has 12 months worth of LES available with your leave right on it. All he has to do (or you) is use his social security number and PIN to log on and find out how much leave he has left for the fiscal year.

It is up to him to address, there is nothing you can do. You can not see his records since they are not yours.
