Christians, almost all of them, rely upon a book to tell them their truths.
And what are those truths? That Humanity is flawed, wicked, and unworthy of an honourable fate unless they appease the deity who put them in that position.
And how do they appease this god? By piously persecuting all who disagree with their truths.
Historically, this has included the use of gruesome torture and execution. More recently, it has wound down (thanks to secularism) to the point where we are talking about the denial of equality for others who disagree with the christian truths.
They don't execute heretics anymore. They create legislation to make life harder for them and more favourable for christians.

A faith in the universal nature of Love and Life requires an acknowledgement of equality and a recognition that no book contains a list of 'enemies' to be thwarted.
Those who are misguided enough to persecute others simply because they believe they have been commanded to do so by a god demonstrate by their deeds that they have no respect for others, and indeed those people and their deeds must be appropriately challenged and held accountable for their anti-social behaviour.
Those who harm none should not be harmed.
There is a group in our society whose only sin, according to christians, is that they love someone who is of the wrong gender.
Christians are persecuting people because they love one another in a manner christians deem "sinful".
Christians are persecuting people who love one another.

Is love so abundant and so overwhelming in our world that we can endure the luxury of persecuting consenting adults who knowingly choose to express it towards one another?
Do those christians who choose to persecute a harmless minority have a right to do so unchallenged?
I think not.
But it is not on this alone that Christians deserve challenge.
Christians run America, as well as the rest of the 1st world. Every one of their governments is made up of christians. The people who run the IMF and the World Bank and almost all of the multi-nationals are self-professed christians. Most nukes are in the hands of christian nations.
Tell me the world is better off because of it. Tell me that the starving should be grateful to die under a christian stewardship over the Earth? We have the resources to feed the world twice over, and provide for all essential needs, and reverse environment degradation, if only these christians believed the world and humanity worth saving.

But they believe in money, not god. And the reason they are in power is because the christian majorities who elect them want money and ease and comfort, none of which require them to think about the well-being of others.
My faith requires me to defend harmless minorities and the Earth which gave us all birth.
Apparently, theirs does not.

They have gone a complete 180 degrees from when Jesus walked the earth. Once he left it started going back to what he fought against.
Your issue is against those who call themselves christians but do not practice what they preach. Or practice a preaching that is of their own design.
That is most damaging witness of all.

PLEASE! DON"T CONFUSE CHURCH PRATICES WITH RELIGIOUS DOCTORN!!!!!!!!!! Yes christianity has been quite a show the last 2000 thousand years I well agree with that but that has nothing to do with the religion per say and everything to do with "HOW" the religion is practice. Please it doesn't help us (those who fight for a global truth) any to degrade the religion when its really the praticing thats flawed. The religion itself when practiced right is good, its a wonderful way to live life, and it doesn't require the presicution of minorities! Ether way I'm extremely open-mined and blieve that god as more of a force beyond words then an entity defined by them. But this type of christian brow beating doesn't help anyone. Also it is never, never fair to generlize, thats just immature. Sorry really it is we live in a very... colorful? Very... unblack and white world, and to generlize all christians and the practive of religion is just unfair. Ether way most of these problems are all a product of a misconception of love, and the human condition. That we are truly the makers of our own destiny which is a powerful ability that we have well quite frankly abused, but if the worst we accomplished was christianity and all its evils, I think we did ok.....

The truth is it does not.But one has to know how many in the world are- ultimate spiritual superiors-who hide behind the Christian Banner. Not everything is written in the bible.Knowing Jesus or the Father is beyond religion.Christ recruits and trains one for citizenship into the Kingdom of God .King of kings refer to the Father and his sons.

We appease God by living a good life for Him. Having faith in Him. Doing what we can to spread His word. Praising and worshiping Him. Loving Him. That is all He asks of us.

Orion, your thinking is warped and has perverted your judgment. Having strong feelings and beliefs on this matter is all well and good, but, you go way beyond that. You are a self appointed voice that has unresolved and misplaced anger

1st, what you are calling "Christians" are often so in name not practice... meaning that they don't follow the teaching of Christ, but rather that of their 'church', and that's if they try to follow at all.
2nd, when you mentioned money in your spiel, it reminded me of a verse in the N.T. that well answers your question: "Ye cannot serve God and mammon"
As I answer one of your earlier questions, G-d intended his teaching to be "written on the heart" of his people...
A faith that requires you to defend the helpless, feed the hungry, etc IS closer to real "Christianity" than that of many mainstream "Christians".

your ideal society will come about if everyone accepts everybody--Idealism--but reality is different--Sin is not fictitious. Moral corruption is not fictitious Your solution leave out Love for self--and a desire to worship--a GOD.
Those things do exist.
