people that are never exposed to jesus are just lost. what about people living in oppression (like north koreans), where they and their family would be killed if they thought about anyone other than they're dictator. they are completely cut off from the rest of the world and missionaries couldn't get in there if they wanted to. so are the north koreans just going to be tortured in their earthly lives and then tortured in eternity because they don't know jesus?

There is absolutely NO scripture to support anyone being tortured in eternity. NO scripture tells us that those who don't know God will be lost. None whatsoever! Rather than believe these lies, at least be willing to hear the truth.

Until a person can make a responsible choice about Christ, God doesn't hold them accountable for their sins. That includes children, the mentally challenged, and those who have never been exposed to the Word. God will except them into heaven and cleanse them of any wrong they have done. Any ailments, physical or mental, will be removed. Notice, most people who haven't heard the word of God or can't make a decision live in desperate circumstances. It could be said that those in third-world countries, children who die young, and people who are otherwise incapable of understanding God's love, they pay their penance on Earth. Athesists or anyone who knowingly rejects God's love for them cannot enter the gates of Heaven.

no if they know jesus in the end, then thats the only way they wont be tortured in eternity..
God says in His word that even if you dont have access to a bible, He will judge the other ppl by the "code written in their hearts" meaning that just by looking at Gods Creation and looking at life itself, we should believe in the ultimate God!
so, they just as great a chance as anyone else to get into heaven.

God says that all people are judged based on the knowledge that they have. Hosea 4:6 says "because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee". If someone has never had the opportunity to know Jesus then God will not simple condemn them because they did not know. Also i would encourage you to study the subject of "eternal torture" or "hell". Contrary to popular opinion God DOES NOT torture people through out the ceaseless ages of eternity.

Please check out this website www.helltruth.com for more information on what the Bible really says about "hell".

people who have not had a honest listening to of the Gospel would be judged in accordance to what became into of their coronary heart (Romans 2). in case you a approach or the different have been stored below the kind of repressive regime, nicely, God would not tempt us previous what we are able to undergo. thousands and thousands of Christians have been tortured and/or killed over the centuries, and keeps to at present time.

Yes...i know it seems unfair. But that's why it's the job of every Christian to spread the gospel so that when judgement day comes no person can say i never knew. It is difficult to explain and to understand. All i can tell u is that it's not God's fault.

God honors our decisions on where we want to spend eternity.

The rest is up to Him; for those that say don't know Him...well, He reveals Himself to those that seek Him. Check out Romans 1:18-30 (NLT) It's a great passage. We are all held accountable.

In the end, He will decide who will go to Heaven and Hell. I don't want to speculate on people and places (an entire country.)

God judges us all by our hearts. I think if they have never heard he would judge them based on if they had. He knows everything so that is fair I think.

Only God knows. The word is penetrating N. Korea by the way, thanks in part to North Koreans who sneak into China and meet members of the Chinese underground church (most of them feel compelled to return home and share the gospel in North Korea) as well as to balloons being sent into North Korea that contain the gospel message.

UPDATE: You may find this interesting:

A new report from a ministry with a longtime record of support for members of the persecuted Christian church has described the torture and death, and ultimate surviving ministry, of a Christian in North Korea, one the most restrictive nations in the world regarding people of faith.

The report tells of four young men who chose pseudonyms – Pencil, Eraser, Pen and Paper Clip – while training for a Christian mission expedition into North Korea.

They were trained by "Andrew," a Christian worker in China, for the work that would face them after crossing the Tumen River into North Korea.

While three were studious in their work, the young man who chose the name "Pencil" seemed to pay little attention, but all four were dispatched into the kingdom of Kim Jong-il a short time later.

Reports from within North Korea several months later came that three – Eraser, Pen and Paper Clip – had been arrested by North Korean police and beaten, thrown into vehicles and taken away. Reports came back the three were in a concentration camp, but "Pencil," who had watched the arrests, never saw them again.

"Pencil," who feared a similar arrest, lived as a beggar to avoid detection, then returned to Andrew in China.

"With tears in his eyes, 'Pencil' told Andrew the fate of his three friends. He shared how they had been bold witnesses for Christ, and how he had hid in fear as his best friends were taken away," the report said.

"What do you want to do with the rest of your life?" Andrew asked, and "Pencil" told him, "I want to learn how to be brave like my friends, and unafraid to share Jesus."

"The boy whose mind always seemed to wander was now a young man completely committed to Christ," the report said. "When 'Pencil' was ready to return to North Korea, he looked into the eyes of his friend and mentor, and said, 'I need nothing more.'"

He immediately connected with a Christian couple inside North Korea, and together they worked on their ministry. For five months, they planted seeds of faith and prayed.

"One day the three of them were sharing with a small group of beggars and gave them some tracts and a Bible. One of the young beggars went home and proudly showed the Bible to his mother.”

The mother promptly grabbed it and marched into a police station, where commanders dispatched officers to arrest the couple and "Pencil."

His following interrogation quickly turned to torture, as officers demanded to know the source of the Bible, and that "Pencil" recant.

Instead, he told them of his friends and their fearless witness.

"There was a time when I couldn't be like them," he said. "I was too afraid. But now I can be since Jesus is with me."

Beatings and torture, including pulling out his fingernails, followed.

"If you kill me, someday you will become a Christian," "Pencil" told the officers.

Eventually, the officers gave up, ordering him to a labor camp but with instructions that he not be fed. For two months, "Pencil" told the other prisoners and the camp guards, "Jesus is the reason I am able to go on."

"Because of his endurance and how he shared the love of Jesus, many in the camp turned to Christ," the report said. "After two months in the camp, Pencil died. He never saw his 20th birthday. His body was removed from the camp, but the fruit of his short ministry there lived on."
