Well, actually, both.
I don't have any kids, but I can give you an example of what I did last week when I became ill.
I prayed for God to help me. Then I made an appointment with my doctor. She gave me antibiotics, which I took. Unfortunately, they weren't strong enough. So I called her back about five days later, in a lot of pain, and she told me to go the hospital because obviously this was something more serious than she'd thought.
While in the hospital my family and friends were praying for me. By the time the doctor was done with her exam, I was feeling pretty good. She was going to give me Morphine to kill the pain, but I told her, "You really don't have to give me the Morphine, because I'm not in pain anymore." So she gave me some Motrin through an IV and six hours later I walked out of there like I'd just been to a museum or something. I took home another bottle of stronger anitbiotics and have been taking them as prescribed. Both the prayer and the medicine worked.
I don't see why we can't have faith and take our medicine, too.

Christians will pray no matter what. and sometimes healing comes right then, other times not. and God has His reasons. God also okys seeing a doctor It is He that taught them what they know and how to do it . IF God wanted this child to die, this child will die, even if the best surgeon gets ahold of them, God has reasons for taking ppl home early and once you are Chrsititan, you understand this. So yes, I would pray and also take the child to the doctor. and continue to pray. We must believe for healing too, ask for it, believe it and wait for it. Faith still moves mountains today and sometimes we are tested to see how strong out faith really is.
Do we give up or hold on?? Choice is up to each of us.
But there is no sin in seeing a doctor. Thoswe that teach that do not know the full word of God.
Great question. We place no faith in science, only in God. but science that runs along with Gods word is always good. When it doesnt, we are to leave it alone.

O would put my child in neither one hands, not the religion or science. I would trust the lord with my child, knowing he gave life and can take life. I would pray, because God is the one that gave mankind scientist their knowledge and religion is the gateway to get help from the lord. True antibotic was made by science technology but God gave the knowledge and therefore I would choose God.

Since God created universe and thus science, I'd both pray and take my child to the doctor. Ultimately, everyone is in God's hands.

Silly question... I pray that they don't kill my child accidentally at the Hospital.
(AP) Deaths linked to hospital infections in 2000 were 14 percent higher than the federal government estimated, and nearly 75 percent of the deaths could have been prevented, a newspaper reported.
About 103,000 deaths were linked to hospital infections, 13,000 more than the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention calculated last year, according to a report in Sunday editions of the Chicago Tribune.

God gave me the common sense to go to the hospital. And a question back to you....... When your child has cancer and you are told by your doctor he/she has 2 months to live will you go home and wait for them to die or will you pray for a cure?

God is responsible for good science too. Of course I would take him to the Hospital. This is the Providence of God.

Both. God gave the scientists and doctors the wisdom, knowledge and discovery to create the antibiotics and vaccines to allow the incredible creation that is our immune system to do what is necessary to battle the infection.
Funny, this question is asked of Christians and most of the answers are those whose religion is science.

first of all, we would not have all the advances of science if it were not for God giving us insight into these things. and what do these scientists do, they turn it against God and he's the one that gave them the gift in the first place. I would take my son to the doctor, he may be able to help him, he may not be, its all in gods hands. If he wants the doctor to help him, then he will be cured. If he's ready to call the boy home, then so be it...
