I think my b/f's a little bit in awe of me. I've just passed the Vidal Sassoon Marcel Wave retro look hair design challenge and have the certificate to prove it. Should I burn the precious document in front of him to prove it doesn't mean he is a lesser person to me now?

what the? I'd be all "my girl just passed the Vidal Sassoon Marcel wave retro look (pant pant, catches breath) hair design challenge".. to my friends and revel with you in your accomplishment.. what you're proud of yourself for, he should consider making your feelings peak instead of taking them down.. if you're going to burn it at least get something out of it.. ask him for a trophee to replace the cert.. a purse or some shoes..

You jammy cow! I've always wanted one of those Vidal Sassoon Marcel Wave retro look hair design challenge certificates.

I hate you, but no, don't burn it.

No, you should not. Keep it, just as a memory to yourself.

How is anything YOU do going to make him a lesser person? I hope both you, and him, have enough self-confidence for you to feel proud of what you won.

If not, is he just going to knock you down every time you win something, or do something good? If so, this is NOT the right kind of relationship to be in.

You want someone who will cheer you on, every step of the way. Someone who will encourage you, always, and want you to succeed. Your man should always put you up high on a pedestal, and treat you with great respect.

If he is just jealous of your document and your success, he will always knock you down. You don't need this. Get out before it's too late. You don't need to be in a controling relationship with a loser.

Hold your head up high. And, hold hands with someone who deserves you.

Absolutely not. Be proud of your personal accomplishments. If he is so selfish that he cannot share your happiness with you, that could mean you are with the wrong person in a relationship. I hope you did not go after this certificate to prove anything to him. If you did, that was a waste. Maybe you should just pay more attention to his feelings about you and find more ways to raise your own self-esteem. Best wishes.

The Vidal Sassoon what?
I think you should frame the certificate and hang it on your bedroom wall so when you wake each morning you can gaze upon it and be reminded of what an awesome person you are.

Sorry, but that is funny, where do you get that from?

No, seriously, your b/f is in awe and impressed and proud of you. Men loves it when their women succeed in what they are setting their heart on. Hell, why would your success make him a lesser person (unless that is what you told him!). He already knows he is great, and having you with this accomplishment is making him even greater.

Hell, if you continue on this track of success, you might be able to support him in the future. Don't think that thought has not crossed his mind...

Congratulations! You should be proud of your accomplishment. And so should he. You don't have to go thru the extreme of burning your certificate to prove to him that you're the same person as before. Just tell him that it doesn't effect his status in your eyes. It's just something you've added to your list of life experiences and accomplishments. We all have them....he does too!

Absolutely not! What will you do the next time he's a "little bit in awe of" you? He should be proud to have a girlfriend who can be a success. If you're ever concerned about how he feels to talk to him about it instead of destroying your own successes.
