It's not at all like biting your tongue. It's really not painful. The worst part is having someone hold you're tongue out of your mouth for a minute and because they're all up in your face with a needle it's kind of scary. The worst part is the first few days afterwards, your tongue will be pretty soar and swollen. Some people are lucky and really don't experience very much swelling. It's easy to take care of, just rinse 3 to 5 times a day with mouthwash especially after meals. Some piercers also recommend gargling saltwater, it helps it it heal. And ice or motrin will definitly help with the swelling. I was body piercer for several years and of all the things I pierced quite frequently the tongue was definitly the least painful for people.

It's supposed to hurt a lot and is the most dangerous place to get a piercing because you tongue has so much blood being pumped through it all the time...

I got mine pierced. I didn't think it hurt that bad it was more of a adrenaline rush. Afterward eat alot of ice to keep the swelling down and use alot of listern the mouth wash for the germs. like after you eat, smoke, drink you have to do that alot so it doesn't get infected......

yes, plus add in the probability of infection, swelling, drainage, tissue loss, gee sounds like so much fun maybe I'll go get mine pierced!!!

it pretty quick and it depends on ur tolerance of pain.for me it was the after that hurt,ur tounge swells for about three days and u cant really eat.or smoke or kiss and u have to keep it really clean. oh yeah and make sure u do it professionally, its really dangerous if u do it yourself.
