1. Continued until the next court date
2. Finding of guilty
3. DMV notified for possible suspension/revocation proceedings

If it is not mandatory that you show up for the court date, you are fine as long as you pay your fine by the time your are expected to pay it, I think you have 1 or 2 months after your court date in most states.

Otherwise they put out a bench warrant for you until you pay the fine. If you still don't pay the fine they suspend your license or could even put you in jail.

BAD INFORMATION ALERT!!!!!!!

Pay NO attention to ANY of the above posts. This is America Jack, you are NEVER found guilty because you don't show for court. The state STILL MUST PROVE IT'S CASE AGAINST YOU!!!!! You will have a bench warrant issued for your arrest and increased fine for failing to appear, but you still receive a trial for the traffic offense once you are caught or turn yourself in. Jeeeeeze!!!!!

The court issues a bench warrant for your arrest; it is typically called an FTA or "failure to appear"; it is a separate issue from the traffic ticket and is criminal in nature as contempt of court order.

In the event you have missed your court date contact the court traffic clerk (or criminal clerk) and advise them why you missed court (better be good) and Request a new court date. Be very apologetic...

Good luck.

At the judges discretion a bench warrant may be issues for your failure to appear. They will generally not show up at your house to pick you up, but if you get pulled over for any reason you get a free trip to jail. My advise is to get down to the court and get this taken care of ASAP. The traffic fine is a minor thing relative to the failure to appear.

Plus they might tack on a 75 dollar fine for not appearing in court the day of the trial depending on where you live

Most states suspend your drivers license. Then when you get caught driving suspended they put you in jail until your trial date because you have a history of failing to appear in court.

if you don't show up, you'll get about 30 days to pay the fine amount stated on the ticket, if you don't pay, they'll issue a warrant and the next time you're pulled over, they'll take you in and your bond will be extremely higher.

Guilty by default. Fine and punishment as the court sees fit.
