If you have a tendency to gain weight, stay of the bread, toasting won't do anything for reducing the carbs. May be you can have small piece of toast, and thats all to satisfy your craving.

I hope you're not breastfeeding and dieting, as I'm sure that can't be good for the baby. As it is, I'm not worried about my baby weight gain, unless I drastically spike up in the next couple of months. (I've only gained 20 pounds and I'm six months along.)

As for the bread, go with whole wheat. Wheat bread as previously suggested isn't much different than white.

It's my understaning with carbs that it's the refined stuff, white bread, white rice, anything with enriched flour in the ingredients list, that's bad. Brown rice, whole wheat bread, etc., has all of its healthy goodness intact.

You're better off not eating white bread, but there is too much good stuff in the whole wheat to not eat it.

carbs are a necessity and toasting it will not lower its nutrional value. but try eating wheat bread instead as its healthier, and more filling
