Try exercising and eating better. Starving yourself isn't healthy.

You got it----all it does is make you sick. Oh, and you will GAIN weight. How?

When you starve yourself, your body will shut down to protect your vital organs. That means it will hold on to every little bit of stored fat and calories it already has. You will only last a few days doing this (you'll feel like crap, you'll be extremely weak, sick to your stomach, etc.), but your body doesn't know that. When you do start eating again, your body will store it ALL. And after starving for a few days, it's impossible to just eat a little bit. Everyone binges because they're so hungry.
That's why you gain weight.

Frenzy, this is the 3rd self-injuring question you've posted! Call a counselor, make an ice cream sunday and watch a comedy show for pete's sake!!!!!

Ok, I used to starve myself. Both happened: In all I lost about 25 lbs. but then I gained 15 of it back when I started eating again.
Go to google and type in "Anorexia" and look at the photos. I was never that bad, but the thing that happens is after a while your body gets hungry and sinse you're not giving it anything to eat it starts to feet off of your body fat and muscle. After a while it keeps eating you to provide energy that you become skelital and when there's no more meat to eat they'll go after your organs. This is why so many girls (guys too sometimes) die from anorexia: They don't eat, then their stomach begins to devoure their muscle, fat and organs and then there's not enough energy or body mas to keep them alive.
So yes it makes you thin and yes it makes you sick and yes once you start eating again you mostly gain it all back because your stomach is so happy to have food again it tries to restore the 'fat.'
You get sick in 2 ways: One is becasue you aren't getting enough sugars to make it through the day and 2 because generally people who starve themselves are depressed/ have very low self esteem anyway both are unhealthy to begin with.
Don't starve yourself, it's not very fun and you grow to fear and detest food... even pizza. :-(

yes i got a stomach virus and couldnt keep nething in me for almost 2 weeks. it makes u lose weight but most of the weight is muscle. your body digests the muscle before it digests fat because muscle is easier to get rid of and muscle requires energy to maintain while fat does not.

u will lose fat for the first day or two but after a day or two of fasting everything u eat will be converted to fat. if you dont eat ull just start losing muscle.

best way to lose weight is to :
eat less more often
eat lots of fiber and drink lots of water
eat breakfast
dont eat within 3 hours of sleep

run an hr each day at a steady pace without any breaks

do jumping jacks or anything that will increase your heart rate right after you wake up

get up to go to the bathroom around for 5 minutes every hour

don't eat foods with more than 20-30% calories from fat

get 8 hrs of sleep

do as much cardio as you can for as long as you can. the longer your body is deprived of oxygen while excercising (cardio) the more ATP and glucose it will burn up. once u run out of ATP it then burns glucose and once youre out of that, fat.

Looking at poor people all over the world, I would say yes, starving works.

However, if you'r lifestyle makes you overweight, starving wont help cause there's 90% chance, you'll drop back into your habbits as soon as you've lost some weight...

Weightloss demands a change in lifestyle :)

When you starve yourself your body will start to use up all the fat reseves and you will get skinny quicker than dieting, however this is the least sensible way of doing it mainly because you wont be getting all your much needed minerals and vitamins and when you do begin to eat again your body will turn all that food into fat to store for the next time you starve yourself.

I starved myself for 3 months. The only thing I ate was dinner. I lost 53 pounds, and NEVER gained it back.

i lose 1/3 to 1/2 pound per day when fasting (i fast for spiritual reasons). but the problem is your body goes into ketosis (sp?) and you burn muscle, not fat. another problem is that your body goes into panic/starvation mode and will process food differently - making the food you then eat really pack on the pounds.
It's really healthier to reduce calories and increase nutrition and exercise.

Well, if you did it long enough you would lose weight. At first, you'd gain because your body would be in starvation mode.

If you have any questions about how horrible it is to starve yourself to lose weight you should look at this:

You will lose weight but it will be water and muscle. Not a good idea.
