how can i utalize a great idea into a non profit organization ?

i came up with an idea that would create new jobs it will help needy and homeless people with in the US community, plus it will help minimizing the crimes and theft, it will help the cityhall in lowering the cost for the city waste management, it will help the environment by reducing the waste or the trash in the dumbsters almost half there is more into this.....

Look into the idea to see if there are any current non profit organizations devoted to the same cause, or even just siliar causes and approach them for help. Speak to others who support the idea because even non profit organizations need capital to begin.

First thing u have to do is formulate a mission statement descibing exactly what th eprogram is about. Next file for a 501c(3) with the gov't. They will give you a tax id number which will help you apply for grants. You can look online for how to apply. Once you have that, you can either look online for grantors who will back u financially. There are sites that list them for you, but you may need to pay a subscription fee to acess it. Most major companies such as Veriuzon, Xeroc, McDonald's, give to non profits quite frequently. You will need to send your prospective grantors a letter of inquiry asking what you need to do to apply. It's tedious work, but well worth it. The most important thing is teh 501c(3), Without that, grantors won't even look at your application. Good luck!

You put together an organization and look for a benefactor or a grant that will allow you to do what you want. Don't forget the irs must grant you non profit status or everything is taxable. And if you are going to sell anything, even if it is given to you, pay sales tax.
