All of your statements are correct.

1) Are there any cats... Asking if there are any means you would like to know if any of the cats known are there beneat the table. Are there some cats... Asking if there are some asks if there are any, and even perhaps more than one. Are there cats ...asking if there are cats of any number under the table.

2) Very correct. How many cats are (plural subject, with correct tense of verb).

The tool to open a door is called a "Door Knob"
It is unlocked using a "Key"
Perhaps you mean the electronic thing which allows you to call, thus being an 'Intercom'

It's really either or with the cats, execpt for ,"Are there some cats, you really just say any."

Example: Are there any cats under the table?
Example: Are there cats under the table?
Both are correct.

With your second question, it's better to say....

Example: How many cats are in the box?

For your third question, I'm a little confused? Do you mean the doorknob? The thing we twist and pull to open the door? You got me confused because of the phone-like?

I'm not sure if I fully understand your question but here goes:
1. It is correct to say either of the 3 versions.
2. Yes, you can say, for example: How many cats are there in the room
3. A tool to open the door? Do you mean a key?

1 - Any of the sentences you used would be correct. Using "any" or "some" almost implies that there are normally a lot of cats around the house.

2 - Yes, that is correct.

3 - I don't know what phone-like tool would be used to open a door. How about key or doorknob?

1. Are there any cats under the table? - is fine but a strange thing to say anyway.

2. How many cats are (list some place, maybe, -)'under the table'?

3. I believe the word you are looking for is -doorknob.
