They asked him to teach us as John taught his disciples which doesn't mean to be taught the same things, Jesus knew they wanted to be seen in the same light their society held John which was the whole point of the question. Wouldn't it make more sense for an all knowing God to invent a whole new prayer? And How DID the Jews of the time pray to God BEFORE this prayer???

I know I've read scholars believe Jesus learned it from John and the version in the original aramiac isn't the one we speak now, I'll happily admit if I was wrong on the John part but I can't find the link and Im trying to remember the book.

The "Lords Prayer" is a outline of the same Jewish prayers that are said in synagogue every sabbath. It is called the "Amidah" also known as the 18 benedictions. There is a nineteenth which appears in the 12th position and originally was added as a curse on the Christians. At the time of Messiah this was a much shorter list (nine I believe) and follows the order of the Lords Prayer.

What he was saying was follow the same pattern but do not recite it verbatim. Use the outline as a structure for your heartfelt prayers.

You have grossly misinterpreted the scriptures. There is to much to correct so I will only say this. Jesus was giving His disciples a model prayer, a order or structure of prayer to put into perspective God's order. His disciples did not seek to be taught like John the baptist taught his followers, even John the Baptist knew Jesus was the promised Messiah.

John taught some to pray but it was not the same prayer.
Jesus taught them to pray that they enter not into temptation.

John did not teach Jesus anything...Jesus was lead by the Holyspirit." If you had known me then you would have known the father." "I and the father are one."

Man in the old testament had visions and dreams. If you knew the word of God then you would not ask such questions.
Prayer came into effect with Daniel but men and women called on God long before that. Some were impowered by the spirit of God even then and prophesied. The disciples did not care about society they were fascinated by Jesus's words and actions and wanted to know all comparison to John...Jesus said what does men say that I am....Elijah or ....then who do you say that I am....Peter full of the spirit said you are the Lord the son of God.

It appears that you are misunderstanding the "as John the Baptist taught his disciples" in Luke 11:1. It does not mean "teach us the same prayer", but "teach us in the same way or manner". In other words, they're expecting Jesus to teach them to pray because John taught his disciples to pray.
As for the Lord's prayer, what's important isn't so much the words, as the form and even this pales in comparison to other considerations such as purpose.
Jesus gives two examples of how others prayed which the disciples were not to follow in Matthew 6:5, 7, publicly ("And when you pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the open streets so that they may be seen of men.") and pretentiously ("But when you pray, do not be babbling vain words, as the nations; for they think that they shall be heard in their much speaking.").

Simple answer... Jesus was not and is not God. They are 2 separate beings. Jesus was created by God. There is no such thing as the trinity as taught by many so called Christian religions. The Bible does not say anything about a trinity anywhere. It is a complete fabrication from the minds of men.
John was the forerunner of Jesus. He was teaching Him to pray to his Father. No more no less.

There is no 100%, flat out statement, that Jesus is God (not even John 1:1 if you look at the ambiguously written Greek). Everyone's views about God are all speculation (Unitarianism, Trinitarianism, and so on). It is, however, 100% stated that Jesus is the Son of God, so I will stick with that.

Jesus did not learn it from John the Baptizer.
Jews prayed according to their Scriptures, what is not considered the Old Testament. Check out the Psalms.

Where does it say John taught him I think you are confused about this. It says they asked him to teach them like John had taught his disciples. Meaning not the exact way he did but to teach them the proper way on how to pray.

KJV: Luke 11:1 And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.

Luke 11:1
Jesus' Teaching on Prayer
One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, "Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples."

The Our Father is found in Matthew 6, and it has nothing to do with John the Baptist.

while Jesus ascended and went to heaven, He, God the daddy, and the Holy Spirit united to variety the Holy Trinity. i do no longer think of that God stopped being God on a similar time as Jesus replaced into on earth, yet God put in Jesus a spirit equivalent to His very own. yet Jesus IS the dwelling God. regardless of the indisputable fact that it truly is a Holy Trinity created from the three. are not getting me incorrect: Jesus replaced into in basic terms as divine while He replaced into right here on earth as He replaced into after he ascended, yet you remember the verses wherein the Holy Spirit got here across the disciples? i've got faith that this practice the signature of the Trinity.
