I've heard that eating an apple is more effective at waking you up than coffee is in the morning, and I was just wondering if drinking apple juice (Tropicana, to be specific) would have the same effect?

Not sure. Apple juice can have a lot of added sugar so I would make sure it is pure 100% juice. However you'll be missing out on all of the filling fiber you get from the actual apple.
I've always heard the first thing you should do upon waking is to drink a glass of water and that has the effect of waking you up even more than coffee since your body is being rehydrated. Makes sense, so I added water to my morning routine and lots of it.

An apple will contain fiber and nutrients contained in the apple.

The thing to watch out for in apple juice is that juice is often cooked which destroys some of the nutrients and if it's made from concentrate you're probably ingesting more sugar than eating an apple.

no apple juice is filter through so many filters at the company,` that is why it is so clear. If you just mash up an apple the juice would be cloudy. Same with pure apple cider if it isnt cloudy it wasn't ran through filters and water was added. But if it is cloudy that means the vitamins and minerals from the apple are still in there. Just eat the apple the skin is good for you and when you bit into the apple it helps your teeth. if this helps add me as a friend i could help you out with other questions

I think that the amount of work involved in eating an apple is what wakes youup as opposed to the nutritional content. I doubt Apple Juice would have the same effect.

I'm not sure- but, it's funny how the two can be completely different. For example if you have diarrhea, the doctor will recommend applesauce to make it stop, but apple juice actually causes diarrhea- why is that??

I always depend upon my coffee, I drink it black. Apples are high in sugar so are a good pick me up. You can try it, but you don't get the fiber that you would get from eating a whole apple.
