It is a sin not to point out sin; in the church AND in the world.

This is a very touchy subject and a difficult one to approach. No one wants to have their sins pointed out to them. The Bible does tell us to judge a tree by it's fruit. A good tree does not bear bad fruit and vice versa. The Bible also tells us to stay away from people who are continuing to live in a sinful manner. This does not mean that we jump on others for every little mistake they make. The Bible makes it clear that it is continued unrepentant sin that is dangerous because it contaminates others.
1 Cor 5:ll-12 What I meant was that you are not to associate with anyone who claims to be a Christian yet indulges in sexual sin, or is greedy, or worships idols, or is abusive, or a drunkard, or a swindler. Don't even eat with such people. It is not my responsibility to judge outsiders, but it certainly is your job to judge those inside the church who are sinning in these ways. God will judge those on the outside; but as the Scriptures say, "You must remove the evil person from among you."

No. Other people's sins are not my business. I am not God, and I am not appointed as a judge of others. The only thing that nit-picking over other people's sins has ever accomplished is to completely turn people off to Christianity. Look at the vast majority of anti-Christian comments, and note how many of them cite smug, self-righteous, judgmental behavior as a reason for despising Christianity.

And, how should Christians go about pointing them out. Bumper stickers, picket lines. . .exactly what do you recommend?
As a Christian I can tell you that if you are going to point fingers at sins then you better point your finger at all of them. I would still like to see the bumper sticker that says "Vote No on Divorce". . .right next to the one that says "Vote yes to marriage one man/one woman".

the sin of omission I think it is called.....it is usually 2 or 3 of the church body that confront the person and tell them they are doing something not right, etc.
admit the sin
pray together to correct the problem

Aha...............
I don't go around pointing fingers at people. I think I can understand where you are coming from - however, just love people and share Christ & if they ASK you about something - then you could share what the Bible says about a topic.
Let the Holy Spirit do His job...................most people feel pretty condemned on their own. (John 3:17 BTW)
It depends on the situation - but probably no.

No, we shouldn't point. When we point to others we end up pointing to ourselves. Our lives and our conversation does all the pointing we need. If we are living in Christ our lives will bring conviction to sinners without even saying a word.
