If they are a good breeder they will not breed the female every time she gos into season. A female dog goes into season on the average every 6 months. Then after the litter is born I believe they will go into heat a month after the puppies are born. (I think that is right been a while since we have been in the breeding program) This is too much on her body to produce puppies every 6 months. A GOOD breeder will breed the female and then after the puppies are born will give her a hole heat cycle before breeding again Meaning that they will wait about a year. 1 Litter a year is all we would do when My family breed Rotts and some times my grandfather would wait 2 years and never did a female have more them 3 litters ever!!! He said that is was way to much stress on the boby. After the third litter they would get spayed.

Never, never would a responsible breeder breed a female on back to back seasons. Being pregnant and whelping and nursing puppies is a huge physical strain on female dogs. Responsible breeders will breed on the first season following the females second birthday, then wait at least until two more seasons have completely past before breeding her again. She will be bred no more than 2 or 3 times in her lifetime. If you are breeding to preserve and IMPROVE the breed, then each generation should be a better specimen of the breed than the last, and there is no need to continue breeding the same female if you have a superior specimen. They are spayed and treated solely as beloved pets.

Actually, there's not a reputable breeder in the world who would breed a bit ch in consecutive seasons!!
You always skip at least one, and no female should be bred more than 3 times in her life at most. If you know what you're doing at all as a breeder, she's produced a female by then who's better than she is, so a breeder will always breed the best he's got.

It really depends on the breeder. Responsible breeders will rotate their best females...and retire the dog from breeding before health issues arise. But, on the other hand, there are irresponsible breeders. They literally breed a dog to death...they start too early and don't retire the dog like it should be. Hope this helps.

Thats a tough question, if you are a GOOD breeder you would want to only breed your females once a year, personally when I was a breeder, I would breed my females every other year. but you do get the bad breeders that will breed then every time they are in heat which isn't good at all in my opinion

Depends on the breeder. If they are a Breeder or a puppymill. A true breeder will not breed more than once a year due to love of his dog and her health. If demand increases there will be more than one dame in the kennel. Puppmills are terrible things, all about the money.

The age of the dog is usually a hot topic. I would never breed a dog under the age of 1 1/2.
I don't know about a lot of breeders, but service dogs are bred no more than 3 times in a row and then given a break during the next heat. It's a lot of work on the mother dogs.
Most servie dog breeders are retired by the age of 7

You should not breed a female but every other heat season at most. Most reputible breeders have numerous females and fewer studs and rotate the cycle of who is having a litter so the females have a break.

Only the most irresponsible, unethical breeders will breed their females every heat. These are the people who are only in it for the money and care nothing about the health of their animals. They should be bred no more than once a year. Sometimes I wait 18 months before breeding one of my girls.

You have breeders mixed up with puppymills. Every season, only if you are a puppymill who wants to produce dogs for profit.. Oh yeah and destroy your female..
We don't even breed our girls every other season. I have girls that have only ever been bred once. One that had never been bred until she was 4.5 years, cause there was no male good enough ! You don't just get a female and keep breeding her to produce puppies. You have to put a whole lot more thought into it than that.
